I am kind of bummed out.....my '99 does not have the mystery plug in it.
It may have been one of those notorious "running changes" that Ford is so well known for, so '99 owners, don't give up!
Time to go do some wiring

The 99's DO NOT HAVE THE PLUG IN THE DOOR.

Mine is #2698,6/2?/99 The holes for the plug, above the speaker hole are not there either.

So back to running wires through the door for us 99ers.

Ordered my parts yesterday and now this comes into play. Of course I would like to just plug it in but the thought of running wires through the door does not enthuse me at all.

My parts may become available for any Red 2000 owners depending on my decision. I will post this and accept responses via email ONLY!! Robert.Peden@asphalt-materials.com

Thanks for the GREAT directions and pics, ToyMan. This is one of the first mods I plan to make once I get my L.

What the production # on your trucks? I have a 99 with a production # listed in my signature. I was wondering if the production number would be a baring factor on having it or not.

I checked my 99 L last night, it DOES NOT have the plug in the door. I am told the they are built on an XL platform. Maybe the 00's are built on and XLT platform? And heavier thats why the are slower (all that extra wire).... LOL j/k

Hey Toyman,

I know someone has already posted part #'s but I have a red truck as well and would appreciate it if you could post all part #'s you ordered from Ford. I am going to my dealer this week sometime and would like to order parts.

Thanks in advance,

Collin

That really sucks for the 99's (if it is true for all 99's) Maybe my keypad mod is a bad mod for E.T.'s; I figure is worth about a tenth if I remove it, aye! Oh, wow, the jack, there's another tenth. And, what about the ash tray....man, I'm gonna' be in the 12's by this friday. Yippie Kye Yieayyyyyye

YL3Z-14A626-AA is for the keypad.

Expect to pay around $120 for the 2 parts from the dealer.

I have a question for a 99 XLT F150. Everyone on this board has stated that the vehicle has to have remote keyless entry to be able to make this modification. What does it take to add the remote keyless entry to my truck? This way I can add the keyless pad also. Is the plug in the door?

Any help would be appreciated.
