Post Extrude Honed Upper Intake

Anybody try the extrude hone process on their blower intake plenum? Was thinking about trying it with mine...probably worth more in HP than a single bladed throttle body.

Cool

Splitfires are worth more than the t/b on the assometer in throttle response on the street,a lot more.T/b's are like airraids, they make the blower sound better, but not much for hp.I would not recommend the splits without telling your chip tuner first though. With my chip i have been lucky with no detonation with the chip,pro-m or the splits running 93 amaco and this year old chip program just netted a 12.796 108.53 today.

How many of you swear you can feel a 1 to 5 hp difference on a 320 rwhp vehicle? On a 5 hp gocart, sure. How many still believe that a sparkplug is going to give you miracle hp for $10 bucks? If you can show me more than 10hp then I might change my mind about the whole "assometer" thing.

On topic, Extrude honing an intake would be something that I'd love to try, but I will definitely let someone else be the guinea pig first.

I would try it...i would need to purchase another upper intake for it as i would not want my truck down for three weeks.

Anyone have part numbers for the supercharger inlet manifold and gasket?

Off topic, bfb,no one that has both would disagree that the splits produce more throttle response on the street corner than the t/b,that being said i did not claim any hp increase as dyno's walk and et's talk.I have talked to others with the splits and they agree with my claim. When you have both then maybe your opinion will mean something. 00 black 12.796 108.53

Jeff, they are SF10D's,but do not use with nos if you end up going with it.You can get these at any walmart. Now were really getting off topic as my original post was just a way of saying, the t/b is not much bang for the buck. greg

I called about extrude honing the intake. Its a really rough casting. But, I was getting quotes back north of $1000. A gold plated intake isnt worth $1000.

If someone could find a way to do it for $300 or less, that I'd consider.

Do you think that these adapters are opened up enough. There have been a few that have seen what an open intake tract can do.

Significant? Depends. I 'll take 5 or 6 here 7 or 8 there. It all adds up. Name of the game is testing and there is no free lunch.

Babolt: your right about it adding up, 5hp for the plenum, 6 for the tb, another 5 or 6 here and there will add up real fast.

Babolt: where can we get one of the upper plenums from. I would like to modify my own, I got an Idea that I would love to try out.

Babolt: I forgopt to ask you, have you ever thought about making a belt tensionoir for our trucks. I really think that we could gain allot of power with that belt tightend down allot more then it is now. who knows that could be worth another 15 to 20 Hp. maybe even more with how loose it is.
