42lb injector details???
HI Guys,
I posted this in the 'Engines' forum but this may be a more appropriate place.
This may sound like a strange question...but...here goes..
I live in Melbourne, Australia and there are very few of the big American made trucks here.
I own a 98 Chevy Suburban (yeah...I know..one of 'those' guys..Lol!) which I have extensively modified.
I recently installed a set of the Bosch 0 280 155 558 (42lb Ford Motorsport)injectors and I cannot find the information I need to tune for them correctly.
Alot of guys just fudge the injector tables but I'd rather tune it correctly.
From the reading I've been doing lately, I should be able to use the same injector settings as used in the Lightning with the 42lb injectors as OEM (I believe) and transfer them to my tune. I realize there may still be some work involved but...if anyone could possibly post screen shots or just copy and paste the info from the Lightning's injector tables (all tables and settings) it would be greatly appreciated? I need info such as Injector flow rates (what PSI do you guys run at?). Min pulse width, Voltage correction/offset, any modifiers etc..
Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong area....I'm really at a loss as to where to find the info.
Thanks very much
Howard

I reaize there is a large difference and that the fuel pressure is almost double but I've spent days online searching and can't find much info at all on them with regards to a GM application.
If you could point me to some info on HPT it'd be greatly appreciated. I have searched there...but maybe I wasn't searching with the correct terms.
Thanks
Howard

Not sure what values exactly you need, but here's a few threads...

hquick,
If I recall correctly, the ford 42# injectors got their rating based on 40 psi of fuel pressure. With that info,Input your variables (I think your setup uses 4bars of fuel pressure)on this spreadsheet
http://www.thetuningdoctor.com/Excel/injectors.xls
The new injector value output will be what you use for your IFR table.Youll need to post on hptuners to see if changing is needed to any other values(breakpoint?).
Hptuners are a friendly bunch.I was dealing w/ ls1 edit and they still gave me great support.Just ask
Good luck

Thanks ganiman,
actually Marcin (redhardsupra) who made the corrections to that table has decided to help me with this.
I spoke/emailed with him today and he needs more info for a new spreadsheet. Any injector info he can get as well as he asked "do the Ford's use a return to tank fuel system or not?".
Thanks
Howard
