the only thing better than 1 is having 2 i had three for a while. having 2 alike its had to remember which 1 i am driving. i think the short bed powerstroke would be a good tow truck for my lightning and twister mustang and cobra twister all on 1 tralier. wasn't there an excurison running 14sec flat quaters some where.

Doesn't Mercedes-Benz make a high-performance SUV for about 60 plus grand or so? The name ML55 sounds familiar to me.

Probably not quite as fast as a Lightning out of the hole, but great highway pick-up. Something like 60 to 100 MPH under three seconds. I imagine it could be used for towing.

Anybody know anything about ML55? Or, am I dreaming?

2002 M3 with sequential trans (on order). ML55 is correct around 360hp I believe. Nice ride. Currently have an ML430, not near as fast.

I have an ML55 as well as an L. The ML55 is a very fast & excellent SUV, it is however not in the same performance class as a the L. The ML55 is perfect for towing a boat or a couple of Waverunners. The M Class is also wonderful for wintry & snowy travel where the L can be downright scary. Now that I think about it, @ WOT & it's S/C screaming, the L can be scary even on dry pavement in the dead of summer. The ML is a rewarding SUV to drive w/342 HP, the L on the other hand is EXCITING to drive. The ML55 is in the 65K range, so it doesn't actually fit the original criteria. My thoughts...

I agree with Lightning2strikes --- 2Ls and a short wheelbase F-250 screw with a powerstroke!!

I've had my eye on one of these for a while now, but apparently, they are rare or something

mrbbqman has done it again!

Although I do not own a Lightning(yet), and I had a choice of any vehicle(other than lightning ) I would have to choose:

2001 Ford Windstar w/ ALL options
w/ enough mods to make it run high 12's/low 13's!!!

Now that would be a bad @ss van!, family ride that whoops these slow cobras and SS's

Cool

T wacker
Field Marshall BBQMAN's rig (pictured) comes stock with bullet proofing and stuff.

What would it cost to bullet proof a Windstar? I bet it would put it over the 60K mark.

Cool

There both a used/"previously owned" Viper RT/10(Black with White racing stripes) and a NSX(Blue) on a Ford lot by my house. Not sure on the price, but anything is negotiable.

Oh and I'd go with the WRX as well. Sporty, yet economical. Or an SVT Contour.
