Interested in an informal SVT Truck get together? There's a pretty neat car show up here in Springfield every summer, and this year it's August 17th. It's called the Tuned By Tuna Show, and it's a benefit for the local Shriner's Hospital for kids. Entry is peanuts ($10.00) for driver and passenger. The Cruise past the Hospital is pretty neat, as you're escorted by the state police, and there are ALL kinds of vehicles (some very loud ones) in that cruise.

Sarat Ford is a local SVT dealer and they are one of the major sponsors. Two years ago we had two Lightnings and one Harley. Last year I was the only Lightning in the show, and I wound up with the corvettes because I was a little late getting there. As a former corvette owner I didn't mind too much, but look how weird it was:




I'm pretty sure Sarat will have their Saleen F150 there, plus the Ford GT, Saleen Mustangs, and probably a Shelby GT500. They usually bring about 7-10 vehicles.

I've always seen these pictures of a huge group of Lightnings from gatherings down south (they do have a weather advantage), but it would be neat to get a dozen or more from New England. Heck, somebody might actually win a trophy! I think some guys are coming up from Danbury, CT and one Lightning from Long Island! So maybe if we can get a decent group we can stage a "Gathering of Lightnings" throw-down picture for our friends down south! The guy that runs the show told me if we can get 10-15 trucks, he'll reserve a special area for us.

that may be tough for some of the hard core racers, that FUN Ford Weekend's date at Epping NH.

 

Yeah... the hard core guys will probably go to Epping, but there's about 15 guys on the list from MA, CT, & NY. Most indicated they'll come to the Tuna show... so we'll keep popping the reminder to the top just to flag those who would rather make a shorter trip.

Well... if you can't make it (70 minutes?) ask around any the guys from the Boston end of the state. That's our goal... to get a current group shot that rivals some of the gatherings from south of here.

 

For those of you interested in coming, a quick update... it looks like we'll have at least a dozen Lightnings/Harleys in the group. The guys at Total Induction Tunning are bringing at least one turbo Lightning, and possibly a turbo Harley Davidson. Total Induction is in South Windsor, CT and they have a great, modern, clean shop complete with a Dyno-Jet chassis dynamometer.

Those people coming up from the New Haven/Danbury/NY/NJ areas might want to meet at Total Induction and convoy on up as a group. Anyone coming should PM me using the same format as below, your own info:

This weekend is also 1320X at Lebanon Valley, I am planning on going to that event.

 

I have seen total inductions turbo truck. it is a sweet truck. a real sleeper.

 

Tough being a "sleeper" with 750 RWHP, the hood, and then there's those 18" wide rear tires tucked underneath! LightningMike from Rhode Island is also coming up. He's another who has a 4-link suspension setup. Weather this coming weekend is supposed to be OK, just very hot again.
