Cool Cervini hood ?

Tried calling Cervini this morning but was on hold for 20 mins. Anyway can anyone tell me does the ram air hood come with the mesh inserts like in the pic on their web sight?
Also any other experience regarding this hood would be nice. One more thing anybody got pics of this hood or other hoods on a silver L?

No, they do not come with the mesh you see in the picture. What you have is an open hole in the hood...
Quality and reliability is superb. My local Ford dealer gets shipments directly from Cervini, paints them and then calls customers to bring their F150s in for installation.
Good luck and keep dialing.

I also have a few questions for those of you with the Cervini's hood.
1)How long did it take for you to receive the hood?
2)I have seen some of you put a sort of billet (or aluminum) grille in the small openings. How hard is this to do and how do you do it?
3)Is there any danger of debris or water getting in the vents and into the engine compartment?

Thanks for all the help.

I have never had a problem with the COWL taking in any water, even ynder the most severe downpours.
I had my hood in 2 hours, I drove to the factory/warehouse up in NJ.

Thumbs up

1) If I remember correctly, it took 3 weeks to arrive. That was from NJ to WA.

2) Go to a junkyard and look for the grill insert in the hood of an 80's Trans-Am (the ones with the offset backward facing scoop) or the engine cover vents on a Fiero. They both use a honeycomb pattern that matches the 99-00 grill. I can't take credit for this find, someone else on one of the forums discovered this one.

3) Yes and Yes.

If Cervini's tells you that they will have a functional ram-air intake kit for the hood in 6-8 weeks, they are BSing you. They've been saying that for at least a year now. I'm just starting to design and build my own because I'm tired of waiting.

Cool

I got the Ram air hood. Just got my bro-in-law a Ram Air hood. They have the inserts on request. If you don't ask for them, you won't get them. My holes are open. But, I asked for two sets. I'll have them soon. I'll be adding the functional set-up as soon as it's available. As far as water, it doesn't hurt anything. Water can come up from the bottom just as well as the top.

Hey Mark,

Did they tell you why? I talk to these guys alot. I live 15 minutes from them. I'll tell you what they told me. They had the working ram air set-up done, but didn't like the performance they were getting out of it. So, they went back to the drawing board, redone it. Now the wheather here in Jersey didn't want to co-operate. Inside dyno's are nice, but wanted to hit the local track as well. That's all I know dude. But it is coming. I'm waiting myself. Nice looking truck. Nice hood too.

New experience with my hood,
Had to drive this weekend in a heavy thunderstorm, and the airbox did get some moisture due to all the rain. But we got seven inches this weekend in CT, and its the first time the filter ever got wet to my knowledge.
With only alittle moisture, the Truck ran fine still.
It was coming down in buckets and I was at highway speeds.

They don't have them in stock... but Tomball Ford will order the hood from Cervini, take delivery, paint it and then call you when it is ready to be installed...

Who do you call at Tomball Ford? Is there a resale market for the aluminum hood?
