Thumbs up Most excellent commute home from work....extended

Friends,

As I pulled out from work and merged onto the beltway with windows down, slider open, music up, sun shining, and conical filtered Eaton and Magnaflow enhanced horns providing their wonderful daily symphony, it appeared to be a normal drive home, or so I thought.

A quick glimpse in the driver's mirror proved this, in fact, would not be a normal daily drone home as it was filled with a beautiful royal blue Roush Mustang followed by a visually enhanced white Porsche (Not Riced...nevermind). Hmmmmm....Let's have a look. Upon lifting the throttle slightly, said Roush Mustang was piloted by a very pretty female...B-O-N-U-S! We exchanged nods, smiles, and "thumbs up" then she picked up what appeared to be a Nextel phone, commenced to chat, looked into her rear view mirror, then accelerated a bit, her dainty hand clutching the gearshift with feminine grace and familiarity. hmmmm hmmmm. Ok, back to the task at hand.

Wanting to have a gander at the fine piece of European machinery (the Porsche you boneheads), I stayed at speed. As he passed, we also exchanged the same gratuitious gestures then, much to my surprise, he produces a Ford Racing Cap...Excellent. Extra thumbs up for Mr. Euro. He then began talking into what appeared to be the same device. A quick quantative anaylsis deduced he and Ms. Hottie Roush were in cahots with one another and were discussing a potential run with/against yours truly and Big Red. When it was safe, I gladly jumped into the hammer lane (they call it this for a reason boys and girls) behind the Porsche and followed suit.

Now, this area of the beltway is very light with traffic and all lesser vehicles were safely minding their manners in the middle or right lanes respectively and there was at least a mile-and-a-half of no middle-laners.

As I saw Hottie Roush move over and Porsche squat ever slightly, IT WAS ON. Did I say how much I enjoy your pulley Sal? Well I DO!

Mr. Porsche took it to 135 with me on his six like a duck on a June bug. I know, I know, he could've walked my dog but I didn't notice any references to suggest Turbo anywhere. In any event, Ms. Roush actually tried to keep up but we had the jump on her (car) for which I produced for her an eyeful of my big beautiful, gleaming, polished twin......Borla tips and a BIG smile. Oh yeah, the Porsche thing….

As we came screaming onto slower traffic, Mr. Porsche tapped his brakes thrice, we slowed down, and he pulled over. As I pulled alongside, we were both grinning from ear to ear, exchanged "Hell Yes" nods and thumbs up. By this time Ms. Roush came tootling along and fell back in behind Mr. Euro.

They exited soon thereafter for which we all gave extended waves Buh Bye.

Now this is how it is to be done y'all.....no assenine weaving, no fly-bys, no ******* you's, lead car tapping the brakes when its time to quit, no one hurt, no hard feelings, gracious post-event exchange, and PLENTY OF ROOM....get the idea?!?

Have a nice day.

Now now Bob, I know for a fact you couldn't get your truck up the 135mph around Indy.

Because there's not enough road here that's not under construction .

BTW: Thanks again for the ride .

you damn people are out to kill each other, oh sure "Mr speed racer", just imagine if he hit a wall, or pulled a gun on you?! racing to 300mph, almost killing 10 people while doing all this! People like you should be banned from ever setting a foot outside......

JUST KIDDING!!

Sounds like a great race, I'll bet we all wish we could enjoy a race like that someday!

Ole,

True story. It happened on 465 between 37 and I-70 interchange on the southwest side.

No construction there....yet.

No problemo on the ride. Next time, let's pick a better location.

Don,

agreed, too bad I'm a happily married man. However, the scenery was very nice.

L'Rod,

The cape accessory was nixed as it gets in the way...or something.

Silver-bolt,

LOUD yet it contributed greatly to the thrill factor although I'm sure it did bad things to the drag coefficient.

L'Rod, Jake, Need4Speed

Thanks for the compliments on my prose. I used this as a test bed for my upcoming GMAT exam. I pondered submitting my "works" to Mr. Guccionne's fine publication in my younger years. Maybe someday...

L_Acious,

10-4. I'll be at work though...

Thanks for the responses!!
