Yellow 02 Lightning
Hey guys,
I've discovered a yellow 02 Ford F150 lighting at a dealership about 20 minutes away. I'm gonna check it out later today but does anybody know if yellow was a factory color option by ford. I've NEVER seen a yellow lightning, so i'm wondering if it was in an accident and the previous owner had it painted. Its only got 52k miles and they want $10000 for it. If it were gray, white or black i'd buy it in a heart beat. Just wondering what you guys think about the color....
Thanks
John

HI!... You sure it's a LIGHTNING? It might be a BOSS 5.4 F-150. Basically a regular F-150 with butt ugle ground effects kit on it.
Did it look like this?

Lightning to go - Yea didnt think it was a stock color either,
and neal, yea i made sure to check and see if it was that boss. When I saw the color yellow on autotrader, thats the only thing i could think, that it was just the boss 5.4. When i drove by it last night though it dosent have all those stupid ground effects. ITs a lighting, I just gotta figure out whats up with it. I doubt i'll buy it, i really want a silver, white or black lighting....

The under the hood would most likely not be painted and would be one of the stock lightning colors with out the clear coat. The rubber stops at the gas cap was painted over on the stock lightnings with the correct color.

Hey guys,
I'd post a link but the dealer dosent have pictures up of the truck yet.
I checked the truck out sat. afternoon but I think i know why they havent posted pictures...the truck was in terrible shape. The bed was cracked up near the rear window on both sides, the actual truck bed itself was in terrible shape all scratched up, super dirty, the side skirts were coming off on both sides up near the front wheel wheels. It had the factory Harley Davidson 20 inch rims and an aftermarket hood i didnt really like. I'll check to see if they post pictures and i'll add the link. It was cool to finally be able to see a lighting not driving by, but sadly its not the one for me...I didnt even drive it or look under the hood.

It was definitely an L. The Side exhaust, the stance, the logos, the SVT seats, they were all there. Amazing how somebody would be it up the way it was though...My buddy looked inside and said the seats were all squished and the interior wasn't so nice, even though it had a touch screen dvd/cd player. I should have taken a picture for you guys, but it was rainy and my camara phone sucks.

????
IIRC yellow was a dealer special order that a few dealers ordered in I believe 03. I recall a car show at an SVT dealer in metro Atlanta we went to in about 03 or 04 and they had 2 new yellow L's on the lot. I have a yellow diecast in my collection!
I have a picture of a factory painted yellow lightning from 2000 that was a spyshot outside the windsor factory. To my knowledge, this was the ONLY one.
Anyone have any more info. I bet if this is infact true, a factory yellow lightning would be of much value to an enthusiest.
