Performance valve bodies

Hi, I just have a question for some of the experts out there. I have been searching the forum, but I can't find anything comparing aftermarket valve bodies. I have a 2001 black L and am going to be putting a whipple on, I have a SBTB, Bassani catback, 95mm cai, diablo predator tune for 93 octane, and maybe OBX headers. The tranny is stock and I want to put a Moroso deep pan from summit on it, but I would like to know what the best aftermarket valve body is. I hear lots about the FTVB, but I can remember not too long ago there was another one that you could get off of ebay for $189, that one is not listed anymore, so is the FTVB the best and only choice?? Also will the diablo predator tune that I have interfere with the way it will work? I will be getting a dyno tune in the spring. Thanks guys, any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm no expert, but I've been running the FTVB for about 8000 miles, and I think it's waaaaaaay better than stock. I've read Punisher and DMP are good candidates. I'll eventually try another, but with an X-factor brace, I don't feel like taking all that crap off any time soon.

I have a LFP stage 2 and it's great

right now everyone is raging about the punisher valve bodies but you really can't go wrong when you are comparing them all to a stock VB

The Punisher VB is a step above the FTVB. Greater care by a real Lightning enthusiast makes a difference. I have seen old rusty parts come out of FTVBs over the years. I promise Paul would never try to pull that crap.
I now have a full Punisher race trans in my truck. Took out a FTVB equiped trans.

If you're installing a Whipple, I'd suggest looking at a full tranny upgrade.

I think I would upgrade the rods first.

I ran a FTVB in my previous L for over 30K. I was happy with it. But this time I just changed the mod valve out and I don't see a difference except for price. I can still break the tires loose going into second

Thanks for all of the input guys. I am leaning towards the Punisher VB, but can't seem to find out where to get one. I even tried to find them on google with hardly any luck at all besides on the forums. Also I know in the future I will need to get a stronger tranny, but can't afford it right now, so I am just looking at how I can prolong the life of the stock tranny for a bit. I am going to be keeping the stock pulley on the whipple for the mean time.

Why's that? 3 years of 500/600 on my daily driver so far... and counting. Bad tunes kill engines. The stock motor will handle more than most know. Support mods and a good tune are the key. Besides, the tranny will still be the weak point even if you build the engine first.

Odin's Wrath... I am curious as to what mods you currently have to get 500/600 with the stock motor, and what 1/4 mile times are you layin down?
