Dont forget we are double the weight and are still able to run 12s for under $1000 dollars. A turbo upgrade alone is over $1000. Under the bottle, like most japanese cars, they do not stand much of a chance

Bfb:

The only time I've had my a$$ handed to me was by one of those Talons running 20lbs. boost. Ran a 12.5x to my 13.0
He got my attention for sure...

As far as the Eclipse, who's this guy kidding...?

would the REAL Bubba From 'Bama please stand up!!!!

we all need further enlightenment on his supposed stance on (street) racing. or is it now OK to do so as long as it is against a vehicle Sir Bubba owned.

You know I am little disappointed in some of you guys here. I am a huge fan of the L and F150 that is why I have one. My 1997 GST has a Stage 3 Turbo Kit at 22 boost, Greddy full exhuast no cats, Greddy intake, upgraded fuel pump, crane ingnition, no back seat, modified fuel tank, dropped and sitten on 17 Koing and Nittos. I know I am forgetting something but it will run fast and hard. Just remeber I am about half the weight of your trucks with me in it. ITS A TRACK CAR that I take out once in a while on the street. Some of the reponses bother me to think that you guys are so narrow minded that you cant imagine an import beating your L. I am sorry if I offened anyone it was not my intention. And Yes I have been beaten by an L before.

Maybe you should have said that before...?
You let us believe you beat an L in a regular Eclipse.
What response did you think you'd get.

BTW, what was your best time at the track?
We'd all like to know, I'm sure..

With those mods I believe your story. We have a couple of 13sec DSM cars at our track.
You have to understand that some of these guys have never seen a pumped up DSM car. Most FWD GS-T cars that I have seen run low 15's because it takes a lot of skill to get thses cars off the line. I like these cars. The main reason I never considered buying one was the stories of blown up diff's in the AWD cars. I didn't want a FWD one.

Some of the guys were just having fun as well, they weren't trying to insult I'm sure... well maybe a couple were

Cool

My personal best was 12.6 with E/Ts and a nice cool evening but on a hot day in Texas its usually 12.9. And this is my second engine in the car. The first had what they call crank walk were the crank moves back and fourth horizonaly. A guy at Alamo Autosports in Arlington has G1 and 475HP!!!! He does not even waste time with regular cars he races his car against bikes.

I feel that it is rather pointless to exemplify a modded car against a stock L.
You could mod the sh*t out of an L and it would spank most cars around.
I think if you want to compare apples to apples, a stock Talon against a stock L?
Hard to say not having experience with an Eclipse or Talon or what ever they are, but I would gues that it would probably be close, so what this thread boils down to is who has more mods.

Pointless.

Pointless, yet finally believable....

Thanks for clearing that up for us.
Sounds like a fun car.

I never said I approved. I only got into this conversation concerning the fact he had an Eclipse and I knew he would get bashed. I said "Good win and play safe" pretty much. I'm not going to preach anymore. I promised I wouldn't. Just be safe if you're going to do it. How can one be safe when racing, I'm not sure, but it's better than saying don't be safe.

Cool OK!

Either way....the L is a much cooler car - if you want to be some rice sucker, drive the Eclipse. We're talking about two completely different types of vehicles.
