Talking there will ne NO 2002 Lightnings !!!!

Probally just a rumor but I hears from a semi-reliable source that with the problems continuing on the 99/00s,They will not be making them next year.could also be the reasoning for the double supply of them this year? Who knows.Id really like to know. This would duplicate exactly what they did for 93-95 too.:o

It could be that i know nothing about what i am sayingand its just a rumor but. They only made them for 3 years last time and added a color the second year kept it through the third year and then 1 year before body style changes, they stopped making them so......................who knows, actually maybe you do sal???!!!

93-red/black
94 red black white 96 none
95 red black white

99 black/red/white
00black/red/white/silver 02 none
01red/black/white/silver

another thing that plops around in my mind is that thing where they made so many engines or had a contrac for so many engines and maybe with all the warranty motors, they are running out.Maybe just maybe,I am a retard and I know *****.Ya thats probally it but at least i try to figure stuff out I think way too much

I have wondered about this myself. I hear people asking about the 2002 L and I just wonder if they would make one. If I were them I would wait for the new bodystyle and of course try and pump up the hp more.

I also thought since there seem to be a lot sitting on dealers lots, why would they decide to produce a bunch more next year.

Just my thoughts

This is the best Lightning news I've heard in 3 days! Here's why:

Last week my wife and I drove to Home Depot in her SuperDuty. She pulled into the lot and was the ONLY SuperDuty on the lot. She thought it was cool having the only one around, especially at Home Depot.

Saturday, I drove to Home Depot in my Lightning and parked in my usual spot - FAR AWAY from the other dinged/dented/dirty cars.

As I walked towards the entrance, I noticed that there were THREE RED Lightnings in the lot, and only two Superduties!

That sucks! Not that I'm happy for the other Lightning owners, but they're becoming way to common in our area.

The following day, I saw two more Lightnings. Then I went racing with Dreamin and saw his...

If they sell them in 2002, I'm either selling it and finding something else, or putting in a six speed to make it different.

Now that i've got my L, that's what i like to hear. No offense to those wishing to purchase 02 Lz, but i am seeing wayyyyy too many Lz on the road, and think they should stop production of the gen 2 Lz, and maybe come out with somethin in 03.

Glad to hear that. That only increases the value of ours. I hope they do cancel them.

ON the Car & Drive show John stated that demand and the lack of competition was the reason for the increase to 7500 units for 2001.

There was no mention of no 2002 L.

I don't have to worry about it here, I'm the ONLY Gen2 in my town. There are a couple of Gen 1
