Thinking about dropping Lightning

Has anyone tried airbags on their Lightning. I am just concerned about extra weight and power that an air bag system would take up. Would that affect my performance at all?

11Sec:

The airbags wouldn't actually use any power in respect to performance. The are electrically controlled and the compressor does the work externally.

They do make "performance" air suspensions. I'm thinking Firestone for some reason.

Hope that helps. (actually, I'm dying to see somebody bag one)...

BTW, it is proven that "bagged" vehicles are much harder to resell. Just a thought...

This has to be one of the funniest posts I've read in a long time. Imagine, someone who calls himself 11secL - as in an 11-second Lightning - is considering loading up his truck with non-performance related junk. Suspension is everything if you want low et's - and airbags are not the answer.

Suggestion: FOCUS. The only way you'll ever see the 12's is if you focus. Forget the 11's.

Visually, I wouldn't mind seeing a bagged L - it eliminates another potential competitor.

Larry:

Not nice, man....

I do agree. 11 seconds may be a little presumptuous, though.

Airbags are best used to help payload in the bed, especially after lowering a truck.

Tampa - your sick, but correct. That should be one of the acceptable payloads in these trucks

Hooter's girls and beer (I have a short list of "acceptable" payloads).

Come to think of it, they don't even have to work at Hooter's.

So I guess the list would be girls & beer.
There, that's better....

Is it girls and beer or beer and girls?

By the way, which is better for that kind of payload, a bedrug or a spray in bed liner?

I wonder how many hooters it would take to bottom out the rear end? One thing is for sure, it would give a new meaning to the term BUST size...

Is anyone willing to find this out and post pictures?

If it's beer, girls and ice I'd say a bedrug for sure but if it's beer, girls and Crisco then I'd have to go with the spray in liner.

Thumbs up

You wanted to see a Lightning bagged, so here you go. It also has shaved door handles and shaved emblems.

Click on link below

Well It's not really bagged it was done with photoshop but it shows you how it would look.

I really don't know the 1st thing about airbags. That is the reason I asked. I don't want to add on anything that will mess up my performance. As for your doubts of my 11's any one of you can bring it on. I have more money in performance parts in this beast than damn near what I paid for the whole truck. high 11's are consistant.
