Question Boost dump---vac. bypass??

I didn't want this question to get buried with the question asked earlier, https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...threadid=47437 .
Isn't there a way to bypass the boost solenoid by re-routing the vacuum lines? It seems like JDM or someone else came up with a solution. Any takers?

The boost dump solenoid can be dissconnected and left dissconnected so the computer wont dump the boost on you. I finally figured out hot to attach a file and did so in the other thread. Go take a look.

Thanks L Boy.
Does anybody, or yourself, know if this can be run like that ALL the time, or just at the track? I knew about that plug already and pulling off and plugging the pink vac. line also. I just don't know if the elec. plug can be disconnected all the time.

We run our dissconnected all the time. Have seen no problems out of it. All it does is keep the computer from opening the dump gate on you.

It vents air out of the blower when not under boost, air which otherwise gets super-heated and could damage the blower.

If you reroute the vacuum lines, then yes. Unplugging it causes no harm provided you don't over rev too much(can't shut the blower down if you hit the rev limiter) or get your trans too hot(the other reason it kills the blower). Disconnecting it only deprives the computer of that option. However, you should connect it and clear the PCM before dealer work as the PCM holds a code that it was/is unplugged until you clear it.

The super-heated air is still vented with it unplugged? or it's not vented, but the superheated air causes no harm??

No, you don't want to reroute them because you could cause harm.

Everything works as it normally does except the computer can't dump boost when you hit the limiter or overheat the trans. This doesn't affect the normal everyday operation of the blower.
