i already changed the power steering pump but that didn't help.just wondering if you guys possibly new what it could be.

 

How many miles on it?Have you checked the ball joints?

 

no i haven't it,ill check them has like 120***

 

does it sound like a creaky rocking chair? My truck is doing it too. Ive got 125k, replacing lower ball joints, and Idler/Pitman arm when they show up

I've previously replaced the upper balljoints due to wear, around 100k

 

Id say the ball joints are bad....And if you are lowered,I would replace them

 

lower ball joints and idler arm are installed, couldnt get the pitman arm off, ill have to save that for another day, creaking noise is gone, rides much tighter going over bumps and steering

 

I took the dash off my truck to replace the evaporator and now my steering creaks like an old door when I turn it. The noise is definitely up near the top of steering wheel itself, it's not outside. Any ideas on what it could be?
