Nuthin' Like A New Intercooler
I got my L back yesterday with a new intercooler and no dents or scratches. I took it to Dobbs Ford @ Wolfchase in Memphis because they were recommended by Collin. They had replaced his last year and did a great job. If you're in the Memphis area and you need this done then this is the place to take it. Mike Hillyard (service writer) took care of me and it was totally painless. He set my old intercooler aside (before they sent it back) so I could take a few pics of it. It was one oil soaked puppy too. It was hard to tell exactly where it was leaking because of all the oil and the leak was small. Here are some comparison pics. Noel says it's not the 01 intercooler. I don't know but it's not the same as the old one. Here's the paper work too. I'm glad I didn't have to foot that bill.

According to SVT, they only replace the I/C.
Thats total BS.
I am very lucky as my I/C began leaking just before the "fix" (hopefully) came out. I immediately took it in and had a good dealer experience. I had very little milage on a leaking I/C, plus it was a VERY small leak. I'm still not happy with the way this is being handled by Ford, they've left many owners out there in the cold driving a glycol powered L around. That cannot have had a good long term effect to any of our motors.
This is why they don't allow test drives on L's.
