Question Another throttle body question

I know, I know do a search.

I did. I know what a throttle body does, but are there different kinds? For example, I know there is the FRPP T/B. There are BaBolt's T/B's. Are they the same design? Does one give more power or better response than the other? How about the JDM and others? Thank you for any insight.

Basically there are three T/B's. Stock, FRRP, and BABolt's. Many places are selling the FRRP's (JDM, JL, Lightning Forces etc). I believe the only places to get BA's is from him or JL. I believe that both units flow the same. The FRRP is cast magnesium and BA's is billet aluminum. BA's looks sweet has that custom one-off look. The FRRP looks like a factory unit. Do not believe one has a hp avantage over the other. My .02

Just thought I would add this quote from the SVTOA message board. The real test is in doing back to back tests with the FRPP unit and Billet TB. I do not make wild or unsubstantiated claims so all that I know is that my billet TB has done better then my FRPP unit.

"Babolt
my many thanks to you
your throttle body not only looks great
performance increase on dyno backs it
white 01L showed up late on dino days stock 3,500
miles. my truck had 12 hp + 12 more lbs torque
my truck has only 960 miles on it

Question

BaBolt,

Do you have a non-polished version? Though your polished T/Bs are gorgeous, I want a more business as usual look. Like brushed or normal or whatever the hell it is called?

Brushed. Polished and anodized in some very nice colors.

ok BaBolt, you are reeling me in. Talk to me about the looks. All of those were polished. Can I/we see some brushed or anodized
colors. Like I said, I want a business look, not flash....nobody will see the engine anyways......of coarse if I run over them, but they won't see the top of it.

I think the BABolt piece is the only way to go. I'm waiting to re-dyno my L with it on. I have every reason to believe this unit flows a little better and gives some real HP along with the throttle response and noise. I have heard 5-6 before, but, I'll certainly take 12!!

I wasn't going to do the tips now I'm glad I did.
Did the TB on looks alone and hunch that it might perform better than the Ford piece.
Can't wait for the pipe.

Thanks again Mike.
