Arrow 01 Track Times

Hello all have some ET'S for you all to rate would like your input, thanks.
We live in Ohio and went to dragway 42 (thats a track about 1 hour southeast of norwalk race way park)
We never hook at 42 but its close to us, weather mid 70's
(42 dosn't print any thing else about the weather on the slips)

MODS 1 JDM flip chip
2 JDM filter kit
3 PSP lower pulley
4 level 10 shift kit

All runs with NO cool downs, 30psi in the F1's, and without the spare and tailgate.

would bring the RPM'S up between 800-1000 and had to roll into the throttle or she was up in smoke (all runs on street side of chip)

Here are the best three times.

60 ft 1/8 ET 1/8MPH 1/4ET 1/4MPH

2.004 8.570 83.02 13.295 103.66

2.027 8.544 83.33 13.247 104.08

2.095 8.610 83.96 13.278 105.13

Would like some feed back thanks.

Those are pretty good times with those mods but they should get a bit better when you get more miles on your truck and the weather cools a bit - high 12's

Hi Lisa
Your times look ok to me, the main thing I would do is to drop your rear tire psi about 5 more lbs. This will help you hook up better and reduce your 60 foot times. It may also keep you from spinning the tires, so you can launch harder.

You want to get the 60' times under 2 seconds. It has took me a while but I have my 60' times down to about 1.8 seconds.

Looks like the track could be the problem, because your 105 MPH show you are making plenty of power. I don't have a pulley YET so my trap speeds are in the 103-104 mph range. Where I run we hook up OK so I can floor it right off the line.

So my sugestion is Lower the rear tire psi, cool the truck down as much as possible. Get some ice and use it between runs. With your mods, a good track and cooler weather I bet you could be in the 12's.

Good luck
Don

How long have you had the chip in and how aggressive have you been driving with it. I noticed with my 01 that it took a few miles for it to really wake up. I also drive my truck really hard. She only comes out on tuesday and thursday for the street scene, and friday for the track once and a while. The more aggressive you drive the truck the more aggressive the fuel curve will get. Good luck

Is this true? I mean, I drive my truck daily in traffic to work, so it only gets a workout at night when traffic clears. Besides, my drive is 70 miles/day so driving it hard eats up fuel. Am I losing performance from my chip if I only drive it full throttle a little bit? I thought that the auto-learing thing only affected part throttle driving, not full throttle.

Those number look about right for your mods and 60's. If you can get your 60's down to the 1.9's and on a nice cool day, you could hit a 12 or two.

Iron Machine your computer does learn only at part throttle, but it adjust fuel and timing according to what it learns. For example if you drive around town and the sensors read lean then it will richen up the mixture. Then when you are at WOT you computer adds fuel to what it learned. It might not need the fuel at WOT so it may become overly rich at that point.

It is my understanding that when you go to WOT the computer goes to closed loop and your mixture will be what the chip is programed for. The computer will go into corrective mode only if if senses TOO rich or TOO lean. I also think that the truck will be dangerously lean before the computer will go into corrective mode. Open to Opinions on this.....

Lisa , those are really good times, what HYe_Bolt said, get some Slicks, consider going to 15" Goodyears if you race often on that skating rink.

Thanks all for your repleys and tips, hope to be in the 12's soon with the L on the street side of the chip!

Don C how aggressive do you do your burn out to heat the F1's?

RACJAS330 " How long have you had the chip in and how aggressive have you been driving with it "

RACJAS330 The chip has been in about 3-4 weeks and we drive the truck aggressive.

Looks like some ET's streets would be the key to hook, but would have to run the 2nd program on the chip to use them.(2nd program is set for the M/T's and 100 octane) We are gone to do some iceing next time and try what Don c says about the tire psi and see what we come up with, maybe even take the front sway bar off to help the 60 foot times. thanks all.
