Well a 6 point is good up to 10.99 right, then we would need a 8 point.

where would the other two points go on a 8 point cage? just curious.

I would definetly be interested since I'm going to need this mod pretty soon. I know my truck will run 11's with a 100 shot of juice, so hook it up. I would probably want an 6 point to start with and then later on add the other two points once I get in the 10's.

Now we just need some custom made hard bed covers to look cool on the trucks.

He likes his ARE, as do I. But you can't use it with a 6-point cage. The bars go out the back windows and down through the bed.

I was thinking about it and me and Sal both said that a hard bed cover that would only open up like half way would be cool.

So imagine the roll bars coming out of the back window and as soon as they enter the bed cover there would be a hinge system just past that and that would be your cover.

I think that would be the coolest way, but how much $$$ are we talking, Anythings possible

cages

IN ORDER YO DO A CAGE PROPERLY WILL HAVE TO USE A LEXAN REAR WINDOW w/ THE HOLE FOR THE REAR BARS. CHOMOLY IS STRONGER THAN MILD STEEL, SO YOU CAN USE A SMALLER WALL TUBE.SMALLER TUBE LESS WEIGHT,BUT NOT A WHOLE LOT OF WEIGHT 20 TO 30 LBS. MAYBE!

I think Nathan has a 8-point cage in his truck...with the side bars being removable.

An eight point cage would seem kind of overboard. To properly mount the cage you would have go through the cab/bed direclty to the chassis frame. I dont know if that would be worth all the trouble as not too many L's run in the 11s......well yet anyway

Well if there is a group buy count me in.

Anthony

BTW...i have everything else might as well have it all!

Talking Did I hear CAGE?

You beat me to it.It would of taken me a while to figure out how to post the pics anyway. How much money do you want to spend? and how nice of a job do you want? Custom stuff like this does not come cheap and if you cheap a$$ it, you can kiss your a$$ good by.Moly is lighter but if you don't weld it rite and go back a normalize the weld area your wasting money.Mine is 2" dom mild steel and does not bend easy!!! Plus the weight over 1.75 is less than 1 lb. per foot not worth it for me if I am rolling end over end in a 4800 lbs. vehicle!!!! The rules all say for vehicles up to 2800 and then have over 2800 but we are close to twice that, spend the money and the time for the bigger stuff, you will be glad you did IF anything happens.Stan

I thought someone had brought up before that a vehicle with a roll cage might not be/isn't street legal because of the possible injuries that could be sustained if the people inside were not wearing a helmet in the event of an accident (i.e. whacking your head off of a cross bar)?

I'm being serious.

I was thinking a topper would cover those bars just fine!
