2002 Modular Lightning Shootout and all Ford Extravaganza dates released
The 4th Annual Modular Lightning Shootout Challenge & All Ford Extravaganza dates have been set. June 29th (Sat) and 30th (Sun). The venue is Cecil Raceway in Rising Sun Maryland.
There will be 2 Lightning truck classes.
1 Heads up (99 and up only)
1 Bracket class. (all Lightning years allowed)
We are challenging the fastest 1999 and up Lightning trucks to bring it to 2002 Shootout. We will try to make the purse the largest in 2002 and no Lightning Truck company will be sponsoring these classes to avoid any potential conflicts.
We are searching for neutral based sponsorship and asking for private sponsorship. If you would like to make this purse the largest ever please contact me.
For those that are wondering about conflicting dates, there are none. We spent a great deal of time finding the perfect date. Fords at Carlisle is June 1st and 2nd, FFW Gainsville is June 8th and 9th, Fathers day is June 12. FFW Richmond and THE NMRA Motorsport Nationals are June 22 & 23rd. What also makes this years Shootout schedule better is that it does not fall on the forth of July weekend. The 4th is the following Thursday so everyone will be able to enjoy the July 4th weekend with friends and family. No race events are scheduled that weekend as well.
Changes for 2002
7 Modular heads up classes
Guaranteed payouts, not contigent on truck turnout.
All Ford Carshow
Open Comp 4.6 only bracket class.
Bracket class for all Ford powered vehicles
Factory Stock class (Bob will hopefully be in the booth and not on the track for all you other guys)
If factory stock does become a reality, there's a chance that 4vna will be eliminated.
If anyone has any questions, comments, or concerns I"m always open to new and exciting ideas. The Shootout staff will also be expanding in the very near future. A lot of good quality people are about to join our team. If your interested in joining our team please email me as well.
Hope to see everyone in 2002.
Best regards.
Thanks Dave & Scott
