You`ll like the Alpine components. I have the same 2 units except for the
Alpine CDA-7873 , I have the 7875 model. They work real well together.
I also used Alpine amps which made the package even better sounding. You should have a real nice sounding system with all the JL Audio components.

I worked in the car audio buss. from 94/97 now i feel lost LOL
I'm trying to sell my PPI Power Class 6600 6-channel 600watt amp, too big for the new Lightning. I did purchase a Rockford Fosgate 800.4 amp new for $330 off eBay (quoted $699 locally)
looking to get a pair of JL 10-W3 D4's. Trying to figure out an enclosure so i can mount the amp behind the seat, and a sub on each side while losing 1 click of seat travel at most (Looking for 1.50 cu. ft. of airspace, not to mention the amp in 18.4" long x 10" high) Plus i don't want to block the room for the center console to lift up and down. This way I can keep my jack under the seat, and a tool bag stuffed under there as well.
Previously rides I had:
1991 Mustang LX hatchback-
Sony CDX-900 Mobile ES cd headunit, 8volt pre-amp
3 JL Audio 12W6's

Audio Control 4XS
Audio Control Epicenter
Soundstream Reference 604/ 4 ch 600 watt amp
Soundstream Reference 500/ 2 ch 500 watt amp

Nice stuff.
I love my new Alpine gear too... I put in a IVA-C800, with a ERA-G320 DSP (and CHA-S624 and NVE-852A). The sound coming out of it is great.
I've got it powering a sent of MB Quart PSC216's in the doors and a sub box with two 10" MobileES woofers. They are amp'd with PhoenixGold gear (XS2500 & XS4300).

TXSVTLIGHTNING,
Do you have any more info on the Sony CDX-900? I am looking at buying one and was wondering if you had any comments/info you could share with me. I'm looking for a pic of the connectors on the back. From what I've found out already it has no internal amp. Front/Rear/Sub RCA output. Are the cut-off points for the sub set or are they variable? Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
JGD

It's been awhile since I've seen one, it's pre-amp only, 4 volt output (had mine modified for 8volt) I recall going through the Bass, Treble, Balance, Fader, and then SUB-W had it's own volume control, but the regular volume still would crank it up or down with the rest of the system, some songs need a little more, some a little less, nice feature
