As some of you know, I own an F-150 Harley Davidson. My nextdoor neighbor also owns an F-150 but wanted a Lightning but couldnt find one. Its the exact same body and everything.

With all my mods, I beat him when we race on the highway

So he came over one day and asked me to help him with mods. After all was done, we went to our local track. He said he was pretty nervous because this was his first time he would really push the engine since we started putting mods on.

Hes up facing a sprakling new Black 2001 Saleen S-281 (He claimed it was the SA [supercharged] version). So im thinking that this may be a close race. My neighbor RAPES him! It was maybe close from the first 10 yds but my neighboor ran an 11.29!!! He was so happy but it was nothing compared to the face of the guy in the Saleen.

He came over and said "DDAAAAMN thats a fast truck!" (His exact words) and we started to talk.

Just thought you guys would like to know how the Lightning SHOULD be.

11.29 is a hellova a fast truck. I don't think any L's have gotten there yet in the Gen2 line.

Anyways, here are his Mods with a 5.4L engine (same as Lightning's)

Underdrive Pulleys (Gives 2-3 more psi supposedly from SC)
NOS Nitrous Boost 150 shot(hooked up to cigarette lighter)
Cervinis Air Ram Hood
ProTorque Torque Converter
JBA HEaders
Gibson Exhaust
Jacobs Electronis Igntion System
90mm TB
Granatelli MS Mass Air Flow
Superchip Inc Superchip
Air Aid TB Spacer
Volant Cold Air Intake
K&N Air Filter

As For Outside Mods :

-Innovations Hard Tonneau w/ Spoiler
-(Dont exactly know the name of it but it stops wheel hop or something under hard accleration, he got this by himself)
-So-Cal Speedshop Suspension
-Wider wheels....think he said 18 x 10 in the rear or something ??
-Also ripped out the seats and put in a race bucket cloth seat.


Oh yea! Its also a 5 Speed Manual so that takes off about .1 of a sec compared to your "Automatics"


There might be one or two things that I may have missed. As you can see....it pretty obvious to see that it really isnt too hard to get that with these mods...he might even do better as he gains experience.


Too bad my truck can barely get 14 secs on the track.....dont even think it CAN get 14 secs
