We can fly again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The FAA turned on part 91 VFR flights last night @ 8:20 PM EDT. Please check duats or FSS for details. There are some restrictions. You MUST know interception procedures! Boy wouldn't an F16 scare the hell out of you when it pulled up next to your Cessna or Piper? LOL

Funny Story
It is funny you mention interception procedures. My mom works in Bloomington, IN and she said last week a guy wanted to fly his Cessna to Indianapolis during the time when no flights were allowed. He ignored the tower and made a break for it! He wasn't in the air for more than 3 minutes when 2 Indiana ANG F-16's were on him and forced him down. I bet he soiled his drawers!! What a moron! Only in Indiana, ha ha ha.

I was stuck in Dallas last week, and Wednesday after the FAA announced flying could resume at 11:30, and instructor and his student in a Piper, took off for a training flight. They were promptly forced to the ground by 2 F16's, and neither looked too happy when shown on TV. I imagine the interior cleaning took longer than the exterior after flight service

The FAA screwed that up bad. They had said that we could resume flying @ 11:00 AM one day last week. One 71 year old man took off with his 16-17 year old grandson and flew over Crawford (where the Bush ranch is) at 11:01. He did not stay up long! What he did not know (and what the FAA had not told anyone) was that the only general aviation flights that could fly was the IFR (instrument flight rules) guys. This is why you MUST always get a pre-flight briefing, even when the weather is CAVU (ceiling and visibility unlimited)!
