Question Question on intercooler recall

I called the number a couple of weeks ago & told them to send it to the dealer I usually go to (dealer A). About a week later I called dealer A & asked if they had recieved the new intercooler. They checked & said it would take about a day or so for them to do the work since they had never done it before. After being told that & that he couldn't garantee that I would get the guy that I usually get or that I would be able to get new plugs or oxygen sensor even though I told him mine was already leaking I called another dealer (dealer B). Dealer B said that if I bring it in they can order the parts for it & have it done in about a half a day once they come in. I wish that I had known about dealer B before I told them to send it to dealer A because they are a lot nicer & I know that he would take of mine since he has one also. My question is if I take it to dealer B & they order the parts will it be the same fix as the recall & what will happen to the box at dealer A from the recall? Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks, Sam

I would call SVT and see if the parts have been sent, and if not, have them sent to dealer B. Good chance they haven't been. I talked to SVT two weeks ago and was told my parts would be at the dealer of my choice in 2-3 days. When they weren't there after a week I called SVT back and was told the kit is on backorder and she could not give me a delivery date at that time.
I guess that means its anyones guess as to how long the wait will be.

Ak.Silver2k, Unfortunately the parts are at dealer A already. I have tried to see if I could get them shipped to dealer B but it doesn't seem like it is possible. Will the dealer just hold the parts for so long then send them back? Thanks again.

I would call Dealer B and ask the service writer... If they can and will do it under warranty .... I would forget dealer A.... Or give dealer A a coutersy call after wars and tell them that you had it done at a place that had better customer service.

Question

Has anyone gotten a letter that the intercooler recall is official or is everyone just calling SVT?? I got the recall notice on the wiper motors and havent gotten any notice on the intercooler. So i was just wondering if anyone has gotten a notice from ford that the intercooler is being recalled. Any info would be great.
Thanks
Vin

I haven't received a letter yet...but I stopped by the dealer with my VIN # and they looked it up.....sure enough the intercooler was listed under the recalls section.
