Thumbs down smoke from exhaust

I was woundering if anyone has any smoke come from there exhaust when starting it. I had a big puff of white smoke!!!! I only have 1100 miles on my truck. A litlle over a month old.. This worries me alittle.? One more question for 2001 one owners. Does your boost gauge peg at the end of any gears?????

Do you touch the gas peddle before cranking?? It's not normal for smoke to be coming out on start up.

This happens when a lil oil gets past the rings.

What type of oil are you using...factory?

The motor is still fairly new and the rings may not be totally seated.

yea what bfb said, don't put synthetic in for a while and let the motor get broke in and seated.

I've seen a lot of Lightning's puff on startup if they have been sitting for a few days, especially if they run synthetic. Mine does occasionally, but it's more of a black carbon cloud. I have had other new vehicles do the same. I wouldn't worry about it.

Mine did this as well until I had about 2000 miles on it then it quit. It blew large clouds of smoke at every startup, esp. if it had sat for several days. I talked to Jim @ JDM and he said every Lightning he has seen does this until the rings seat. So its nothing to worry about. Hope this helps.
