Will headers from a 99L for on a 2000 f150 5.4L?
Hey guys.
I have a chance to get headers and cats and x pipe from a
99 Lightning, but I dont know if they will fit
on my 2000 5.4 F150 4x4 extended cab?
Does anyone know if there are differences??
Nowhone seems to be able to answer this?
Thanks to all in advance

Thanks automan,
I presumed that the head bolt paterns would be the same,
for mass production purposes, but wanted at least a little
feedback on this... 47 people have read my post,
but only 1 person replied.???
Whats up with that?
Anyway, I am not too concerned about the pipes, just getting
the headers on, and making sure that they fit to add the rest
of my exhaust system..
Any other takers???
Thanks d00dz
Peace!

Wil it fit?
Well I also don't know what the bottom of a 4X4 looks like but I just put a stock L headpipe w/cats and the L muffler on my 2000HD F150 .The headpipes fit the stock manifolds perfectly and after adding about 40" of 2 1/2" tubing the muffler fit too.
I also got the stock L manifolds and they are exactly the same as the regular 5.4 pieces.
Best thing to do would be check under a 2wd 5.4 and see if the exhaust is routed the same as yours.Unless you check mine you should have no problem figuring out if it's the same. :)
Now if you want to remove your stock headpipe without cutting you will need to raise the truck and remove the drive shaft so you can snake the stock right pipe out then leave the shaft out when you install the left side, don't ask how I know this:rolleyes: it only took about an hour to figure that out;) Of course being you have a 4X4 YMMV.:)

Hey Theautoman
The Harley and the L muffler are the same size, the rear on both have two outlets, the front on the Harley only has one inlet to the L's two.The hanger is in the same place.
I left the stock Harley muffler at the shop but I'm sure I can get it back.
Sound wise to my ear outside the truck there the same, inside the tone SEAMS a little different cruising at 1600-2000rpm,then above 75-80mph it is much throtier, not really loader but you can tell it's not the same.
I had the opertunity to checkout a stock L at the track Friday night and it did sound a little loader outside than mine,I figured it was because I have about 6'more tailpipe than an L.
I do still have the stock L exaust tips if you want those.
