Is anyone heading out to the track this weekend? I know that Norwalk will be open again, but I am not about to waste my time out there again for two runs. I would much rather go to Dragway 42 and get some decent runs in - even though the traction is slightly worse there. I did send Norwalk Raceway an e-mail detailing all of the problems encountered on Sunday.

As far as I know 42 WILL be open through the end of the year
as long as the weather holds out.
Sundays is the only day and what they do is hold T/T , and
for another 10 bucks you can get into a gamblers shoot out
based on your E/T. 11.99 and slower, and 11.99 and quicker.
There is a 100% pay back , 50/50 split per bracket.
I must agree that Norwalk was a goat f%$#. The time spent
in the lanes waiting was terrible.
They treat you a lot better at 42.

I will go to 42 on Sunday then - as long as the weather holds. Any idea what time it runs?

Marc - will you be going?

I do have another guy possibly coming down from Chagrin Falls.

They open at 12 noon, and will close down at 5.
They will NOT turn the lights on, so they close the
lanes so they can get everyone through before
dark.
I very well may show up as I want to do a little more
testing on the snubber I built. It gave me a pretty
good first launch at Norwalk Sunday. No tire spin
on that one. The 2nd time I had to tight of an adjustment
and the truck bounced the first 60 foot.

Just a side note - here is what Norwalk had to say about the staging lanes last Sunday:

Dear Phil,

I have talked to the race director and I fully intend to talk to my rear of staging official. Apparently we had so many slick tired cars on Sunday and we kept them in lanes 1 & 2. They went all the way back to the gas pumps. We didn’t continue to let the same racers get into the lanes, we were only trying to empty them so we could go to the DOT cars. If you only got 2 passes, I apologize for that, as you should have gotten at least 3. Again, I will be talking to my rear of staging official because I certainly do not approve of any of my officials displaying an “attitude”.
I know it is impossible to go back and correct what has happened, but I sincerely do apologize for your bad experience. If you would like to come out this Sunday for the Test & Tune, I invite you to be my guest. I will leave your name at the gate so that you are not charged. If there is something else I can do to remedy this situation, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. If people don’t take the time to write, I wouldn’t know about situations like this. Again, thank you for caring enough to let us know!

Still don't know if this will persuade me to head back out there.

Tell them that if they are willing to create a class for pick-ups
only, that you can guarantee at least 15 to 20 L's there every
weekend next season..
I would dearly love to see a truck only , heads up, for us
and the (yuck) other brands.
I personally hate it when I have to chase an 18 second car
down during E/T brackets, but, that is what usually happens to
me at Quaker, or 42.

Hey nice meeting you guys! I did not get around to meeting all of you, but did recognize a few faces from other events. Last Sunday brought some good, I knocked a little time off the et. My 1st and best run was 12.55@106.73 w/ 1.75 60ft. That was down from a 12.59 1.77 60ft. before. It was very displeasing to have to travel a couple hours only to get 2 runs in. The L turnout was great and hope we can get together in the spring and do the same! Good luck over the winter.

Cool QUIKSVT

Josh - the check is in the mail as of today. I put the pulley on last night - kind of rough getting the stock one off. It definitely pulls harder now. As soon as I finished it I had to respond to a house fire, and my test drive was full blast to the fire department. Thanks for everything.

Are you heading out to the track this weekend? I am trying to gather people to run at 42, or Norwalk. Norwalk has assured me that this week will not be like last week.

Thumbs up

Marc - The only thing I have a copy of is the e-mail she sent back to me. If I head there, then I will most certainly bring a copy of it with me. Do you want to go back to Norwalk on Sunday??

Josh - I had the flip chip in on Sunday and ran a 13.33 with it. I have since put the right chip in it - which seems a touch more aggressive. I then put the pulley on last night, and boy what a diiference. 42 will be running the same times on Sunday as far as I know.

Would you guys care to meet up at either track on Sunday? I can't wait to go now since everything is installed.

Just my thoughts but I wouldn't go back to Norwalk if my life depended it. It sucked. I was one of the lucky ones who actually made four passes. Never again. I'll go to 42 anyday over that FINE establishment! Just my thoughts.

Okay, I am willing to try Norwalk again. Who is going to be there
this Sunday? I should have a different chip tomorrow which should
get me even with you 12.7's guys.
I really want to play with the snubber some more anyhow.

I am up for meeting at 42. I believe that we will get more passes in, and be able to play around with different set-ups. How many trucks do you think we can get there?

Marc - Maybe we can gather the trucks at 42 instead?
