Question Brake Rotors

Does anyone out there have any experience with aftermarket rotors. My wife's Expedition has a warped rotor, Ford wants 180.00, Auto Zone 75.00. The Expediton has the same brakes as the L. I am thinking about going with the aftermarket rotors I can't see spending 180.00 for rotors. However, if they are not dimensionaly correct and therfor do not work well I would like to know. Thanks.

As a mechanic on cars, trucks, suv's, and campers, I only go with Bendix Brakes. Thant is my suggestion.

go aftermarket

I've had a few sets of Ford rotors. They're nothing special. I'm currently running raybestos rotors (they're probably the same ones you saw at autozone). I did have mine cryo-treated and slotted. They seem to be holding up much better than the stockers did.

Hey Nathan, long time no see...

Yeah, Nathan is one of the hardest people you will ever see use thier brakes. He has abosultly tortured them! I remember the one time all four were glowing.

We are also running the same brake setup and they are holding up well for us too.

Does anyone have a website, or number, or even better a Part Number for the rear rotors on a 01' Lightning???? I need rear's REALLY badly. Mine are gone !

I tried ordering them with Kragens, but they kept sending out the 99 Lightning rotors. (Wrong size bolt)

Also, Lightningboy , did you take your rotors to a seprate place to have them cryo-treated and slotted??? How much did that run you (if you don't mind me asking.)??

Thanks in advance for any info.

Where did you get those crossed drilled rotors i like them alot. Do you have the for front and rear or anyone else know where to find them from? I think they will make my chrome stock rims really stand out. Any info would be great.
Thanks
Vin

Different size

Anyone know if they have larger size rotors available? Hey LBoy, where did you guys get the slotted/crossdrilled and how much? Are those same size as stock?

Ruslow,

How do you think the F-250 Heavy Duty ceramic pads would work with your drilled and slotted upgrade. The dust off the stock pads is something I want to eliminate and a better bite would be welcome.

Thanks for your reply.

Thumbs up Pad?

I see no problem with your basic over the counter pads. Its when you get into the hi performance stuff the you have to watch out.Wilwood, Hawk and such have some very aggressive pad compounds that are not very rotor freindly untill rotor temps are OVER400 degrees.Stan
