Unhappy 100,000 Miles On 2001 Lightning

I Was Calling Around Today For A Friend Who Wants A 2001 Lightning I Ran Across A 2001 (red) At Pagen Ford I Believe It Is South Of Houston. He Said He Had One But It Had High Miles And Out Of Warranty. I Said How Many Miles Could It Have On It 36,000-40,000? He Told Me It Had 98,000+ Hard Miles. He Said It Was Used As A Hot Shot Vehicle To Back And Fourth From State To State To Deliver Parts. He Said It Ran Good And There Hasnt Been Any MaJor Work Done To It At All. He Said He Pulled Up The Vin # On It To See If It Had Any Warranty Work Done To It And He Said There Hasnt Been Any Done That He Could See. The Only Thing He Said He Could See That Was Wrong Was That The Interior Needed To Be Cleaned And The Bed Was Very Scratched Up And Dented, and company signs on it He Said It Looked Like Somebody Had Lived In There. Smelled Like Smoke. I Believe They Wanted $23,000 For It.

I Wonder If This Is Possible I Did Some Additon You Would Have To Drive Like 300 Miles A day To Get That Kind Of Mileage. If So That Would Be Stupid To Do It In A Lightning.

So If AnyBody Lives Or Knowes Where Pagen Ford Is Or Goes By There Stop And Let Me Know If This Is True Or Was He B.S.in Me!!! I would Like To Know. I Dont Think Anybody Would Be That Stupid To Do That To A Lightning!! I Hope Not!!!!!!!!

CRACK

I have 24,500 miles on mine and I drive a lot. How the hell can someone put that many miles on a truck in 9-10 months.

Woh, thats a lot of miles

How long did it take you to capitalize the first letter of almost every word?

I Think Who Ever Had It Was Smoking Some Good Stuff And Was Sharing With Dealer If They Still Want 23,000. I Offered 15,000 But He Said He Would Have To Call Me Back But I Still Have Not Heard From Him! It Might Have Been The Laughing At Him When He Told Me About The Price And Condition Of The Truck.

Oh, the humanity....

But, wouldn't you have liked to have been the driver? Think about it...

I bet he's the guy with the lifetime permanent grin...

I would also make sure that it is actually a "Lightning"!!! It could possibily be a regular old 2001 F-150. I would definitly check it out.

And if it is an L, tell the dealer to go f&@k himself, because you can find real nice Ls for $23,000!!!

I thought I traveled a lot with 100,000 air miles/yr...couldn't imagine driving it.

Anybody that buys that for $23k is just plain stupid.

BTW the 'capitalizing the first word' text should come with a warning about possibly inducing seizures or something...between that and the 'screamers' I've already got a headache...

The new tech. at the dealer made a mistake on the that L. and rolled 40 k. miles on, instead of taking them off.
Yeah, that's the story

I appreciate the Info Surf Dog I couldn't get the dealership to call me back. So it only has 60,000 miles on it then. That sounds more reasonabe than 100,000 miles. I just wasnt gonna drive 2 hours to the dealership to find out, and see a Lightning abused like that.

Thanks Once Again!!

They Proabably changed out the odometer to show 40,000 miles less than normal to make it sell easier!!
