ok,
from all the research i have done, the bridgestone blizzak is the best winter tire made.
now, tire rack wants to sell me some wussy 225 75's to be close to original tire height, when it's dry out, i will have no traction lol
just checked sizes and the winter dueller (blizzak for light truck and suv) just came out with a 31x10.5x15.
I have my custom 15" jdm wheels, i was going to order these for the rear of the car to give me some meat out back still and then go with a generic rim up front with a 255/70/16
these should be the same height,
I am not lowered at all, I know the stock tire height is about 28", do you guys think this is a good combo? and should i have a problem with rubbing in the rear?

Fit shouldnt be a prob.
Hey Beef... Fit shouldnt be a problem...although with the 31 x 10.50 's on the back and the 255/70/16 up front...there will be a minut difference in diameter. If you figure out the fronts they equal to 30.57 inches vs. the 31's out back....not bad though. It will make the truck handle different though....but im sure your not going to be taking any curves at 100mph with those tires on....LOL.

well, with the truck not being lowered, it looks like more than enough room, plus i have the traction bars which keep it from bouncing a lot anyway lol,
they told me at tire rack that there was about a 1" difference in height, i didn't know the formula for figuring though, lol, metric to inches,
will the abs sensors have a problem?
as far as width, shouldn't be any different driving than driving 31x11.5x15" et streets and skinnies up front like on my cobra, lol

Hey Beef.... To figure it out try this.
Take the tire width in millimeters...255....and divide by 24.5...since 24.5 mm =1 inch. that gives you 10.40 roughly. Now take 10.40 and multiply it by .70 the tires sidewall ratio. That gives you 7.28. Now take 7.28 and multiply it by two...since you have two sidewalls..on both sides of the rim rather....and that will give you 14.57. Now take 14.57 and add your rim size...16 you say? Well that equals 30.57 inches. There ya go....metric to standard. Just a matter of Formula's Glad to help ya out.

I would take it easy on the pedal, unless you like buying winter tires, I had the blizzaks on my Impala SS, do not romp on it, they will burn off fast, I would go for the duelers and stay away from strictly winter tires, not only will you lose the handling on your truck because of the width of the tires but the actual tire tred is so soft it "gives" in corners. Also, keep in mind a narrow tire with aggressive tred will get through the snow better than a wider tire, the wider tires will just try to "push" the snow instead of cut through the snow.
I have alot of experience with tires, your best bet would be to buy all 4 of the same tire, its just as important to have the traction in the front as well.
I don't know if you have a "rug" or what in you bed, but drop 250-300 lbs. back there and make sure it stays over the axle and you should get around just fine.

winter tires
went with the michelin alpine II's. 235 70 16's .Word of mouth is they are the best. Supposably the blizzaks have a tread pattern that wears off quickly, then they are nothing better than a regular tire. Put a rubbermaid container over the axle and criss crossed bungees on it. Put 5 60lb bags of sand in it. We'll see what happens.
