i just got my chip back today turn around was quick . i like that alot i will be recleaning the contacts and puttin it in tonight when i get home from work . thanx JL and like the thread says u tha man later

SLP: I had one of those--a 1991 Z281LE that was SLP equipped--good road course car.

I've replaced my chip 4 or 5 times now and never had to reclean the contacts. If they were cleaned right the first time, you should be able to just push the chip on and hook her up.

once you clean the contacts, do you still have to take the computer out before you put in/take out a chip? or is the port easily accessable(sp?)

Never tried to replace the chip without pulling the PCM. Always had too because I have tape around the chip to make sure it always stays in place. Therefore I tape it each and everytime I pull the chip and put it back in.
