more mods equal less power

Totaled claims to have picked up 4 tenths with long tube headers. If I'm not mistaken, he did this "after" he was fairly deep into the twelves.
Aerodynamics is a factor in every vehicle to greater or lesser extent. Aerodynamic limitations are meant to be over come, not used as the end all excuse for why something didn't work.
Sure, the faster we go the harder it is to make a big percentage gain in performance. The truck we're talking about is in the twelves still and making a lot of boost (about 16 or 17lbs.) plus a 50 shot of nitrous. The long tube headers should help him in the top end and give him some more MPH. The bottom end should also be stonger.

anyone notice.....
he has a stock filter..... From reading all the nice goody information on this board over the past few months......why would you put so much money into mods and leave the stock filter on that. Your truck probably feels like Flemming Rasmussen trying to bench press 700 lbs with a sock shoved down his throat!!!!

Also Totaled went up to a 5# lower when he got his long tubes, so he was not claiming .4 gain from long tubes alone.

Spade, i'm impressed for not being able to do that on a chalk board,, but lets see you work with accleration and the coeficient of friction on drag radials and a 60 degree track most people say 60 foot times and 1/8 are important, i would say they have much more to do with accleration, which has a ton to do with traction. In other words, if i was the one driving the 11.2 psp truck, a very inexperienced driver wouldn't come close to that great time.

I've read posts also that say there's no real difference in the stock filter, the k&n drop-in, and the power shots. Some have tested this out and confirmed it. I'd say that the further you move away from the stock set-up the more a filter change makes a difference in performance.

I tried three different chips, some burned for my program and some not. all of them were in a tenth of each other . another thing i noticed was my truck seems to not want to shift from2nd to third quickly like it does from 1st to 2nd. it acts like it has a delay. it has a stall (2800) and a shift kit from precision. it doesnt do it when the chip isnt in
