I have a Mag-Hytec pan I'm going to put on. It is really deep. The B&M is pretty nice. I took it off to put the Mag-Hytec on.

I got the Ford one. It reduced my ET by 0.5 seconds.

The Mag Hytec pan is top of the line however, it sits to low. If you plan to lower your truck ground clearance will be an issue and it will be a matter of time before you strike it. It sits fairly low stock as it is.

I use the performance automatic pan. It holds an additonal 4 quarts and comes complete with a drain plug. You can also tap the pan if you wish to install a sending unit for a trans temp gauge. It is pretty beefy and is the next best thing compared to the Mag Hytec pan.

Mag Hytec also sells a nice rear end cover similar in design to the transpan. Again it will not fit if you lower the truck or go with a performance sway bar set up.

Hope this helps.

My ET was reduced, but it wasn't the ET on the drag strip!

Cool Trans. pans

I carry both the Ford 4x4 and B&M's trans. pans. I prefer the B&M. It's lighter, finned aluminum, so it will do a better job cooling. Both also come with drain plug.

I installed a new transmission pan. see http://www.hughesperformance.com/ and www.ncs-stl.com/Images/pan.jpg

Notice that the pan hangs quite a bit below the main frame rails and the drain plug is only 6 1/4 " from the ground. Also the new pans are not painted.

Ruslow responded to a topic about this about a month ago regarding what he was doing to get some extra HP so he could push over 170 (maybe 175/180) mph.

You'll find it with the correct search words!

(I'd post the link, but this is much more fun)

I have the Mag-Hytec rear diff cover on my Lightning. I also have the drop shackles on the rear. There is no problem with the fit. I did modify it a little. I measured pretty good for the Mag-Hytec tranny pan. It will fit and since I don't plan on four wheeling it will work great. I am going to put a 1" drop on the front.
