I saw it, laughed my a$$ off, the cop couldn't believe it, if I remember correctly as the car passed he kinda grunted(maybe a laugh) and said "this guys going to jail!". Very calmly I might add. How can you pass a cop doing 120 on a road with no other cars around.

Waaaaaaaahooooooo

When is everyone gonna realize not everyone plays by the same rules....you can run whatever you want as long as you dont get caught. I dont know if NOS is illegal on the streets nationwide, but it is here. That fact does not stop me and thousands of others where I live from using it on the street. I mean does 500hp make you anymore dangerous than 400hp? I've seen idiots who cant drive cause accidents in escorts with only 100hp??? (im guessing, since I would not own a 4 banger)
But if someone wants to use NOS on the streets he/she is willing to put his motor in the hands of the engine gods with long blasts of NOS on top speed runs...then let them. Nothing is a better teacher than first hand experience.
For those who like to claim its legal issues....are all your parts emission legal? I mean how many mustangs are there with off road H-pipes, off road cams...etc. I look at NOS as just another mod...just as legal as any other. Supercharger= Poweradder....NOS=Poweradder Hmmmm???

Tell me you never saw Smokey and the Bandit...

Watch it and then decide if you want 5000lb. trucks on your street doing the same...Hmmm?

Bob:
When I say, "your street", I mean Howard Franklin bridge. The bridge I take home to my family every night...

Not a flame, bet it was fun. You might want to leave the nitrous part out next time, though...

Heh, heeeeeeh...

Ohhhh, I didn't see the previous post, so let me recap.

1. At the track, there is an ambulance standing by.
2. If you wreck, the only persons hurt could be you and the driver of the car next to you that chose to race you.
3. I'll say this one more time. If you can't beat them with one of the fastest 400HP vehicles on the street, you should walk away.

130+ MPH on a street we all drive on is just stupid. Fun, but stupid...

Tampa is right.

i hate it when people run the 4 way stop right by my house. 50+MPH in a 20 MPH zone. i usually jump out and scream at the peeople like it is going to do some good.

oh yeah and i believe Tampa has a right to call those "MY STREETS"

if you have this under your hood whatever road you are on is yours.

Sorry Tampa

That is always my saying....This is MY STREET...I will drive as I please. So unless there is a Pig sitting along the road handing out tickets I drive as I see fit. And yes I am guilty of passing on solid lines, going 150+ mph in my Vette, cutting in and out of traffic using a can opener (LOL). I mean if im behind someone here in town where the speed limit is 35...and he's going 25...he's gonna get passed no matter if its residential or not. He is not the lawmaker...nor am I. Yeah, I know 99% of the people on here think that this is stupid, childish, arrogant....but I live life in MY WORLD the way I see fit. Laws are only broken when you get caught

I believe in live and let live. Dont judge others actions...because you are in control of only your own life.

so what are you going to do one day when you are doing 25 in a 35 and you go to pass and some kid runs out in front of you.

dont say it wont happen cause it happens all the time.

it is childish. it is arrogant.

someone who drives the way you do is the one who causes the accidents. you cut someone off and they swerve to miss you and hit someone else but you dont care. they shouldnt have been in your way right?

its called defensive driving.

ive gotten to where i just laugh at these people now.
if im on the interstate doing 5 or 10 over in the fast lane and some car behind me is weaving in and out i puposely make it so that they cant get around me.

however i cant say much becase i will probably never be on the same road as you, or at least i hope not.

i just hope that you never have an accident and kill someone or injure someone severely when you are driving carelessly.

if you are any kind of sane, just person you would never be able to forgive yourself.

i have a friend that killed another one of my friends after driving drunk.

he has never been the same in the past 5 years. he has been in and out of the the Charter Lakeside Rehab center for mental rehabilitation.

he knows that it is his fault that he best friend is dead and he feels like everyone holds him responsible.

well he really isnt. he just made a big mistake as a 16 year old kid.

you are not a 16 year old kid though.

just make the right decisions and good luck driving.

Steven:

I got the impression that he was a 16 year old kid. Don't know where I got that idea, though...

Tampa, I got the same impression.

Many people do things on the street that are not in accordance with the local traffic laws. I am no exception, however, the older I get the less I do it.

Someone cant really say that they were speeding "responsibly", or "within their abilities", however thats what we like to think when we do push it a little bit.

That said- In the past, I have messed around on the street/interstates, but at the very LEAST, I made sure there was noone else around.

Bob, congrats on the kill, but weaving in and out of traffic is just plan STUPID. As much as I dont like stupid people, I would still hate to see you on the news dead.

BTW, I live in St. Petersburg and frequent that bridge.

The fast lane is for the fast vehicles. Get the **** out of the fast lane if someone behind wants to pass. My wife has the same attitude you do. I hate riding in the car with her when she is going 55 in the fast lane and people are passing us in the right lane. They yell and use signs to convey their anger. I don't want to be shot or worse yet have someone cut in front of me and slam on their brakes to show their displeasure at the speed my wife is driving.

I think you are childish and arrogant Steven. Cutting people off in traffic? Purposely making it so others can't pass?

There are too many drivers with bad tempers and guns just waiting to come across someone like you. It happens all the time. So think about that next time you block the fast lane, cut someone off and laugh at them in the rear view mirror.

I don't think it is cool to weave in and out of traffic at high speed racing another vehicle. I don't do it. It is a different situation on a lonely highway or uncrowded interstate. I do drive fast and do it as safe as I can. When I do get my Nitrous installed I will run with it connected on the street.

No excuse for someone holding up traffic in the left lane at 55mph. This is why road rage incidents have peeked the last few years.

If someone comes up behind me and I have no desire to speed up, I simply move out the way and let them go. As a matter of fact I make sure I get out of there way - it's call courtesy and lane discipline.

When people get pissed accidents happen:

Person feels the car behind them is too close & hits the brakes.
Driver trying to pass gets pissed & cuts them off as he/she passes.

ANyway - NICE KILL!

This post is insane. While you are having fun...you are putting others lives in DANGER! What dont you guys understand about that? Do you actually think that the way you live your life only effects you? It only takes one mistake to end a persons life going at 100+ mph. And you do 150, crossing solid lines? At higher speeds your reaction time decreases (yours and other drivers) Do you think that you will not make a mistake? "It wont happen to me!" What will you say when it does? "Im sorry?" That wont cut it!
There was another post a while back that I will probably never forget. Some kids (he was about 17 or 18) mother bought her son a Mustang GT for Xmas. A few days later he was racing down the freeway at 100+mph. Coincidentally, he hit his mothers car from behind. She and the passenger died. I know most of us are older....but what does that got to do with it? Street racing is street racing. Save the races for the track.

Oh yeah, its not only YOUR WORLD we all have to live here too.

Just curious, are you guys against a red light 70mph drags if your first in line? I agree high speed in crowded areas is a time bomb waiting to happen and I don't want to be their when it does.

Oh, Shane. Now you're talking.... Come on S/C Harley...

Clear road ahead. Pulse quickening. You grip the steering wheel a little tighter. You start rolling. POS Mustang next to you revs the ol' GT thinking "Gee, I wish I bought a Cobra, except my mom said NO".

You notice the light in the cross lanes turns yellow. The "Don't Walk" light starts blinking...

And then it happens.... You hear a friggen' siren and nobody gets to go through the damn light except the ambulance taking JoeBob to the hospital for falling off the front steps of the trailer, AGAIN!

Hope you enjoyed the glimpse into my head...
