i can't believe some of these insecure drivers. driving a 500hp , 5000lb pickup at ludicrous speed (spaceballs) especially the ones that pull up next to a less fortunate vehicle and then tries to race, never mind racing with nitrous on a highway with traffic and a car that will do 185 mph easier than an old man getting a woody on viagra, that is just plain silly, on a 1/4 mile track you can take just about any car and race competitively and have fun with that same rush without worrying about running one of your lightning buddies off the road or some other defenseless driver that freaks out when you come up hard at 130mph.

SOME PEOPLE NEED THERE FREAKIN HEADS CHECKED.

SAVE IT FOR THE TRACK IF YOU KNOW WHATS BEST FOR YOU AND EVREYONE ELSE THAT DRIVES DOWN OUR ROADS.

i didnt say i did 55 in the fast lane i usually do 10-15 over. it when people are weaving in and out doing 80-90 they need to slow down.

just wish i could be as cool as you and drive like an idiot.

You say I can't read? You said in a previous post that, " if im on the interstate doing 5 or 10 over in the fast lane and some car behind me is weaving in and out i puposely make it so that they cant get around me." Which is it, 5-10 when you start cutting people off or 10-15 mph over? Since when do you have the right to call anyone stupid when you,"usually do 10-15 over" the speed limit and cut others off when they attempt to go around because you fail to move right for faster traffic? I never said you did 55 in the fast lane. That was an example. My wife will set the cruise at the speed limit and run in the fast lane. I don't approve of that behavior either.

I really enjoyed your original post. Drive the speed limit. Don't cut people off and drive defensively. It sounds like you do none of that. So shut the **** up and don't be a hypocrite. Maybe you won't end up like your 16 year old friend.

It's not called the "fast lane." It's called the "passing lane." Look it up. Check your state law. You're actually supposed to stay off the passing lane. Even when you're the only one on the road, at 4 AM or whenever, you're supposed to use the right lanes. Virtually nobody does this, but well, there it is.

Playing a lane cop and impeding traffic from passing is dangerous, probably more dangerous than just speeding. You're not accomplishing anything. In your mind, people speeding excessively may be endangering other people on the road, including yourself. And you may be right. Speed often kills. But your behavior merely amplifies the danger. As with anything, get the heck away from people acting dangerously. And on the road, that means, moving over to the right so the fast idiots can pass and trip every single speed trap ahead of you. If you want to chance a smug look and a wave as you pass the idiot pulled over the road, that's your choice, but doing what you said you're doing... That would be unwise.

 

If you're in the passing lane and another car overtakes you...move over-- end of story.

If you're having to weave in and out of traffic, the MFs ain't moving over.

If you get killed, or hurt someone because you're weaving in and out of traffic, you're the one guilty, not the SOB in the passing lane. I've never seen anyone get charged for pissing off another driver by blocking traffic.

As the editor in one of the car rags said, I've been watching all my life to see someone get a ticket for not yielding to overtaking traffic...and I ain't getting no younger!

On the other hand:

Weaving among traffic is the quickest way to have a serious accident. You've got to be especially nuts to do it for fun. Do the proper thing...pass 'em all in the emergency lane (or median).

 

Jeeze, listen to yourselves. The attitude on this thread seems to be, "if I'm going 10, 15, 20 over the speed limit the other guy better get out of my way!" Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe you all should just slow down? Stephen1642 is right, there will come a time when one of you impatient, self-centered, self-righteous dorks pass over the solid line, or do 120+ on the highway, and wind up killing someone for the sake of going fast. I hope it never happens, for your sake, and the sake of the people YOU hurt.

what is peoples obssesions with racing SUV's.
it seems like everywhere i go people are trying to race me.

just the other day some guy in a 96 Z28 camaro raced me at a red light and when i got to the next one he looked over and said you cant hang with this.

i was thinking "no $h!t"

then some girl in a RamAir Firebird yesterday took off from the light. again at the next light she looked over and smiled and did some kind of ****y head shake.

i hated that i made you mad enough to have to curse at me.
i once heard that a it takes a person with very low intelligence to curse at someone because it means they have run out of things to say.

im sorry to any other members that i may have upset it just when you lose several friends to car accidents it makes you aware of how others are driving and you try and do everything you can to stop it.

I dont know if any of you have ever lost any one close in a car accident but it is painful. you hurt because you know they suffered.

i just ask that everyone drives maturely and not worry about getting there 5 mintues faster.

it would make me feel horrible if someone on this board was killed in a car wreck for irratic driving when i feel there was room to post to ask them to not drive like that.

it isnt that hard.
i will admit i use to do it all the time.
i used to be the @$$hole driver everyone hated. but let me tell you, you lose one friend because of it, it makes you think twice before acting stupid in a vehicle.

all it takes it one mistake that takes 1/10th of a second to make and someone can die.
