Help! I got break squeal!
#17
Jerry....I had only a couple thousand miles on my Boxster and the brakes starting to squeak eveytime I stoped. Took it to the dealer and they said they are glazed over but work fine. They said it was pretty normal for Porsche and BMW. Told me to do some hard braking and that would take some of the glaze off. Did not work for very long. I just took the squeaking in stride but about a couple of months ago this other service rep says when I take it out on the highway rest my left foot on the brake for a mile or two and the brakes will heat up and knock the glaze off. Today....no more squeak

Here is a link to help eliminate the squeaking, plus if you use a rotor that is slotted that will help to because it will act like a scraper and keep the glazing to a min. like what I use and have.Stan
