Traction Bars... On a Lowered L?

Well Since I snapped my driveshaft due to axle wrap I am guessing? I think its time for some traction bars. I am thinking about using the Truck Traks since my truck is lowered and I do not think the others will fit right? I did a few searches and saw different opinions.

How do you guys liek the truck traks? Anyone with a dropped L running them or another type?

Talk to HDMELNIUM he has the Bell tech lowering kit, and he runs JDM's traction bars. Which he used to run a 11.7, also he has Bassani exhaust.

We can do lowered trucks now too. I've done a lot of work getting the angle correct for the Hotchkis and Roush stuff. I con't know of anyone having driveshaft problems after installing Truck-Traks. Even running true slicks.

Check the yoke on the driveshaft you will you will probably see signs of contact on the outside. That is if you can find the yoke after that.

Here is a picture of the adaptors. The Roush adaptors are a little different.

My Truck-Traks helped me get a 1.798 60' and a 12.697 yesterday. Several guys watching said "No spin--no slipping when you launched." Of course, the M/T ET Streets helped too. I have the 2" drop shackles too.

Congratualtions on your new best Dan. I'm glad we could be a help. You haven't had any driveshaft related issues have you.

You race quite a bit, and I just wanted to keep up with the product and customers.

Richard,

I've not been to the track with mine yet; but, I do have a serious 0-60 addiction. I love my Truck-Traks. They work great for me. I also have a 2 inch drop in the rear.

LOL---I'm on a first name basis with the tech guy, starter, and time slip women . (They don't know my name but they know mytruck )

Jay, I haven't checked the d/s or U-joints. Would you be more specific as to what to look for and where?

Btw. I do have a drive shaft loop on--since I was in the 14s .

Next time you are under the truck, check to see if there is any evidence that the driveshaft has been hitting the rear end yoke.

It would be scarring the yoke. I check mine periodically, and it is perfect. I do run more clearance between the snubber and the spring.

These things really do reduce the rotation of the rear, but don't effect the spring action.

LIGHTNING ROD / Odin's Wrath

I also have the 2 in. rear drop. I installed the Truck Tracs Thursday and have way to much clearance between the snubber and the spring. Was able to close the gap some but not enough. Did you guys have to use shims or spacers to get your snubber clearance down to 1 1/2 to 1 1/4 in. I've talk with Jay about this and he suggested his spacer kit. I need to close this gap up at least another 3/4 in.

Just wondering if you had this problem and how you solved it. At the track yesterday they were not even touching the springs.

Thanks.

With the Borla exhaust, I'm able to utilize the spring eyes. If you look around you can probably find taller snubbers, also.

Ground clearance should not be a problem. The Truck-Traks are not visible from the side (only through the wheelwell) due to the bodywork.

I think Y2K had them on his truck at the races. If you didn't see them, I guess they were not too low.

At stock height on my truck, they have 8" of clearance at the front.
They do not hang down much in front like the Lakewood bars that you see on older Mustangs and Camaros

Here is a picture of my truck from the side.

Jay,

Would I need the spacers that you are talking about?
