I hope they can replace your engine the ford/svt dealer up here is replacing mine right now. Should be rollin in a couple of days but it wont last long. I will be pulling my new engine this weekend to install JDMs rods and ARP fasteners. I hope you get a engine soon cause it sucks to be without your L.

It took them about a week and a half to get the engine and the mechanic was going to start on it today or tomarrow at the latest. He said he could swap engines in 2 to 3 hours.

I thought he was crazy too but the new engine came complete
all he has to do is pull the trashed one and install the new one.
I figure it will take me about 4 hours to pull it back out myself.

My engine was just replaced at the dealership I work at so I was able to monitor the whole event. Job pays 9.5 hours, took my tech 11 hours but he is extreamly meticulous and removes every little tab, wire loom, nut and bolt. To remove the engine assembly properly one needs to remove the accessories, intake / supercharger and motor mounts (completely) to have room to get the motor forward enough in the engine bay to clear the cowl. I doubt the tech can swing the exchange in 3 hours, and would be scared to death if he did. You can't tell my motor has been touched and that's the way it should be, good luck and smart move on the rods!

BTW NCETRY,

Make sure they ordered the correct motor for your truck as they are listed wrong, new motors (01 L's) are part # 1L3Z-6006-HARM though it will be marked 2000 on the sticker on the box it will be a brand new 01 motor (mine was stamped Aug 18, 2001). If they ordered a 1L3Z-6006-GARM it will be a reman motor. Oh and the motors are complete long blocks with water pumps and sheet metal. Tech still has to exhange intake & exhaust manifolds, all accessories & wiring, and supercharger assembly.
