Humorous Thread from the Z28 guys

Well... heh.
I don't have exact figures... but from what I understand, Vette uses the same LS1 as the Z28, but it's either detuned for the Z, or souped up for the Vette.
At any rate... what was the point? Oh yeah... a Z28 isn't an "easy kill" for a stock lightning. Those things are as fast as a bat out of hell.
Both of them...

Well that might be true but your compairing 2 1/2 ton's to about 3600 lbs and and advantage of aero dynamics. Kinda like a brick and a wedge! so the L is doing good keeping with them much less blowing one away. Been there and at about 125 the air starts to make a big differance. just a thought Artie

I think the difference for the average driver in a Z28 and an SS would be negligible.....15HP is correct, but like some of you mentioned, cosmetics is the biggest difference, unless they go with the short throw shifter option, then you have an advantage. But of course, that's for your above average driver......Now if you're talking about the difference between an LT1 and an LS1, regardless of trim, then it's night and day. The LS1 is a HUGE improvement over the LT1.
Stock for Stock, the L will annihilate an LT1, whereas an LS1 can in fact run with a stock L.
