A POST FROM THE 'KILLS SECTION' regarding a red Lightning!
A few weeks ago I was hanging around Rankin, when I saw a new red Lightning outrun a few Camaro's. He was launching pretty hard and pulling stong, so I figure, what the hell, I'll give him a try since I had a little nitrous left, and my ET streets do a decent job off the line. Besides the spectators kind of looked at me as the underdog since the truck had been winning all night - maybe I'd catch a few people slack jawed.
The lightning did his burnout to a score of oooowwwws and ahhhhs from the crowd, but during mine, everyone just looked at my ride as another camaro with exhaust, that was about to be crushed.
It was fun pulling him out of the hole, then coasting across the finish line with him about 5-8 lengths back.

Hey yo, guys.... read the whole thing.
Beating a Lightning with a Z28 isn't that outlandish of a feat to warant "BS" cries from the Ford fanboys. =)
A stock z28 will easily run with a stock Lightning.
And if you read further down the posting, he says his signature was a joke, making fun of other signatures. Just looking at it, you have to realize he's joking, or an idiot. That's all.

Adamantium. Come on. Don't know how you could take that seriously.

Hmm.
Guapo. . .are you sure you don't mean the SS?
The stock Z28's fall pretty easily. Even mildly modified ones fall without too much effort.
Now the SS. . .that's a whole diffrent story. . .

You may be right. I don't know too much about the Chevy stuff.
All I know is that every SS/Ram-air I run is fast as hell and either gives me a real good run, or takes me by a car length. Depends on the driver.
BUT. . .The Z28 guys typically take the L right up the AS. . .er. . .
well, they don't fair quite as well. (To be a little nicer.)

Actually the primary differences between the Z and the SS, are cosmetic variations (SS hood, and rear spoiler) and a larger front/rear sway bar. But power-wise they are very much the same. It's pretty common knowledge (in the F-body circles) that stock Z's dyno equal to (or more than) the SS. On that same note, despite GM advertising, there is no power difference between the Vette and the SS either (just a slight weight advantage).
A=Z28
B=SS
C=Vette
So if A=B and B=C...then A=C (a Z is as fast as a Vette). Sad but true.
