Get the Lightning.

It's the best truck out there.

Insurance (at least here in AZ) is the same as a regular F150.

And when you stomp the go pedal. . .

 

I tow a boat, almost 3000 lbs, and it tows it fine. I normally do short towing trips, not extended ones though. I have heard the same thing on insurance. I have State Farm, they do know it is a Lightning, but the insurance is still cheaper than my wife's 2001 Nissan.
The only nagative thing on the Lightning, they are prone to speeding tickets!!! LOL
