Oil temp gauge

Does anyone know of a port on the engine that would be a good tie in for an oil temp guage? The sender is 1/8 NPT thread.
Thanks,

G

Gregg,

Here's what I did on the oil pressure gauge. Let's you utilize both OEM and aftermarket gauges. You could run a temp sending unit there as well.

parts

installed

Note:

Don't put the 90's in until after the "T" is installed.

Hope this helps.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, where did you get, are the fittings 1/8 NPT? and is that a fitting in a thermostat housing for a water temp gauge?

That's the way I'm gonna do it, let me know where I can find the "T" and fittings.

Thanks,

G

Thumbs up wish the darn search feature worked...

'Tech,

Was just looking for this thread to see if it was helpful. Guess so.

I found/bought the fittings as Lowe's and they are the same thread as the OEM oil pressure sending unit. I'm pretty sure it is
1/8 npt. If possible, take the sending units with you.

As for the thermostat, the brass fitting is the sending unit included with the Autometer water temp gauge. I drilled a hole in the housing, tapped it, test fit, and re-installed.

Another Note: Install the housing onto the block first then thread in the sending unit as it impedes the installation and proper torque of the thermostat housing bolts.

Teflon tape is your friend.
