whats it gonna take to get this marauder running high 12's in the 1/4?
it comes w/ a 300HP 32V DOHC 4.6L 01 cobra engine
3.55 rear end
I guess <4000lbs

No, I think there is a strong market for this type of car. I think it's pretty awsome and Ford will sell as many as they can make.

Cool

That's probably what will replace my L - in about three years! Can't beat the ride quality, and they finally got the HP up enough to be interesting.

A supercharger and Slicks. Hope the Cops don't figure this out.

Marauder

This really looks like an old man's car. Any 55+ year old trying to re-capture his youth may be interested. 300 HP in this boat still makes it a boat. Any small car will run circles arount it. Ford is just 10 + years late on this concept. Ford is really the only manuf.
in the world who build them like they did 20+years ago.

Body on frame construction, solid rear axle. 4000 lbs, bench seats? Blah, blah...

well I'm just playin around, but I assume pretty much anything you can add to an 01 cobra engine you can add to the marauder

what about the tranny and rear end and other drivetrain .........any thoughts?
I suppose I could call JDM he's a stang tuner right?

I have this thing....I like vehicles w/ automatic trans, that can be made into 12 sec daily drivers.......that when you fly by someone they're like........THAT THING AIN"T SUPPOSED TO BE THAT FAST!!

Thumbs up Merc. Marauder

Some of u guys might laugh at this but there's a good chance that this exact same car will go into police production....We all know that the police cars are pretty weak HP wise(except impala ss and the Z28) I mean a stock crown vic is rated between 210-220 HP..Dont let the police interceptor "badging" fool you. justa lil bit beefed up suspension and larger radiator.. no engine diff..weak 4.6L..plus the merc. has white face gauges and 17 inch wheels...be a sweet popo car..They r also talking about putting a beefed up 5.3L in the new impala and changing it back to rwd

Like reality1 said. A good S/C and traction and it will sneak into the 12's with some luck. that car is no quicker than high 14's ..if that.

Thumbs up

It's rated at 330 Horsepower and they'll sell as many as they can build.

Better check that Ford didn't put a cast crank in it because it is an automatic. The engine RPM's won't be as high as a manual cobra! HINT,HINT. Don't just throw a S/C without knowing that for sure!

Just b/c it has a 4.6L 4V. Doesn't mean it's a true Cobra engine. Just my advice!

Sure is a great car to buy in you live in a retirement community in Florida and are desperately trying to recapture a glimpse into your youth. Add a toupet (wig) gold chain and wing tip shoes and you would feel like a million bucks.

Proven tochnology, just like they were built 30 years ago. LTD, Crown Victoria, Marquis, Galaxie 500 and now Marauder. Ford probably keeps this old boat around because of the good old days where they only had two competitors that weren't any better than they were.

Thank god times have changed and that the foreigners have shown the big three how to build cars.
