Tire Width

Just wondering if any of you guys know what the maximum width of tire will fit in the rear using an 18 x 10 wide rim without modifying rear wheel wells or moving springs, etc. inboard.

Thanks. All input is greatly appreciated.

I would say a 335. BaBolt widened his stock wheels and runs 335's on them. The stockers are 18x9.5 and I think he only widened them 1/2", so there is your 10" wheel.

http://www.weldcraft.net <<<They did the widening. Not to far from you either

Thanks for the info Soap.

I see that your just across the river from me. I hope there will be some Lightning events happening this summer in this general area. It would be nice to meet up with all of you. Seems to be alot of L owners on this forum from the Detroit and surrounding areas.

The search isn't working right now. \

I'm guessing Babolt uses the 335/30/18's then. Does he use the same tire on the front? Which brand is he using the michelin, goodyear, or pirelli?

Not sure about the brand but yes he used 335/30/18's on the stock widened wheels. I am pretty sure he widened all 4.

Email him...... mphillips@mediaone.net

Here is what I did when I widened my wheels. They are 7/8 inch wider then stock. I have done them as wide as an additional 2 inches but I do not like it. As for tires I use the Goodyear Supercar F1's. They are 315x18x40 and I use the stock F1's on the front. Sad to say I cannot use a 35 series aspect ration on the rotten roads in Michigan. Our roads have been Englerized.
