Is this a crappy 60' time??

Made my first ever 1/4 mile pass last Saturday at SDR! Unfortunately, I was only able to make one pass because I was unaware of the helmet rules and was informed after my first and only run that I had better not run again w/o a helmet.

Anyway, here are my times:

R/T .511
60' 2.252
330 5.984
1/8 9.018
MPH 80.92
1000 11.649
1/4 13.868
MPH 101.76

What do you guys think? There were a couple of other Lightnings running in the mid-13s and their MPH was a little slower than mine. Does that mean my MagnaFlow helped my top end a little? I think I could have hit the gas a little harder at the launch and improved my ET.

Anyway, I can't wait until next weekend to see if I can improve on my times. Maybe Lightninrod will be there so I can borrow his helmet!

Thumbs up

Not bad at all for the first time. Killer R/T. Were you spinning the tires on launch? If so, eliminating wheel spin will help the 60' times.

In your sig I don't see a chip. A chip will give you the best bang for the buck. Good luck, looking good.

Sammy:

What took you so long to post yor times, you goober? I've been lookin' for it and thought I'd somehow, missed it.

My first run was a 14.xxx, and that was with a chip, 2 lb pulley and a CAI. I thought I would just check out the track sensers as I drove to the trap--wanted to catch all the sights along the strip-LOL. Excellant times--and they will get even lower.

Yea, I'll loan you a helmet for a time or two--but not my M/Ts.

Chikinears: Just a couple of chirps from the tires on launch. I held the RPMs at around 1000. I think I could have got into the gas a little harder without wheel spin. I'll find out next weekend! Yeah, I couldn't believe my R/T! Must be beginner's luck!

Lightninrod: My home phone was messing up all weekend. I had to wait until today for internet access!

What do you guys think about my 60' time? Seems a little low to me. I made a pretty easy launch bacause I didn't know how I was going to hook up. What is a good 60' time with a stock truck and a good launch?

BTW, a friend of mine ran his Gen1 and his 60' time was 1.9x. But after the 300' the Gen2 walks it!

If your F1's are fairly new you should be able to cut a 2.0 or even 1.9x 60' time. That will put you in the 13.3 - 13.4 range. Good luck with your truck!
