You can take her to the track this weekend if you want. And mod her on monday if so wish too.

Break them in hard, the harder they will run.

Welcome to the site and the joys of Lightning ownership.

The decison when to race it is based on the user. A few have gone from the dealership to the track. Others never race them they only wax them and admire them from afar.... Most of us fall some where in the middle. If you want to be safe let it break in good and get a thousand or 3 miles on it the engine will loosen up a little and you will rip off a great time the first time down the track..

I never ran one my self but from my street racing experiance all I can say is stomp on the gas when the light turns green and don't let up until your past the finish line.

Have you ever heard the saying "one or two "? Well the bad take off on that I was trying to use was 1 thousand or 3 .

Meaning 1 thousand or 3 thousand. The reason 3k is important is that about a year or 2 ago the common belief was that these trucks loosened up and ran better after about 3k miles..

if you think about it, all a 1/4 mile run is a hard acceleration. Just like accelerating on to the highway.
