Question Something that actually CLEANS the trim.

I'm looking for something that will actually CLEAN the plastic trim of my truck. I got Zaino on it a while back and now its got white spots.

I've tried peanut butter, back to black, black chrome and a couple of others, and all they seem to do is COAT the trim, but then the white reutns after a while.

Black Chrome and Peanut Butter lasted the longest (4 months?) but now the white is back.

Should I try acetone on it?

I use a soft tooth brush and Westleys Whitewall cleaner. Gets the wax out and leaves trim black. Just be sure and wash the paint off with a mild soap to get the Westleys off. I dont think Acetone would be good for plastic.

Hi,

The *simplest* no-effort method that works is wax & grease remover from PPG. This is known as DX330 from your paint supplier. It works great on wax that's dried on for several years too -- and it can *not* harm the paint or plastic.

Last year I ran over some freshly-painted lane lines and got paint spots all over the right side moulding. WD-40 took it right off! On the body, too...

I say we just pull the side step, the bumper step, and all the other black plastic parts of our truck. Sand them down and paint them to match the truck or billet looking

Have you all tried Simple Green? I squirt Simple Green on a tooth brush and it works well.

LGSCHMIDTJR - thats a good one, I just tried Simple Green and a paper towel, got a little bit off, but a toothbrush would change that.
