Ported/Honed Upper Plenum & T/B>>Cool!!
Hey,
Take a look at my new Ported Upper Plenum & T/B.
Unlike Silver-Bolt's upper plenum, mine didn't have to be cut in half to be honed/ported.
Check out the performance gains Silver-Bolt got from his upper plenum getting honed/ported.
Take a look at mine, Good price too. Very nice job, can't wait to install them.
A previous thread by Silver-Bolt:
Intake dyno results:
Just came off the dyno with my new extrude honed intake. Previous numbers prior to adding the intake were 378.7hp/440.5tq 1.006 correction. New numbers with the only change being the intake, 390.3hp/451.7tq 1.002 correction. It looks like it works pretty well.
Also did one pull adding the 1-2lb upper (2.8"). 397.8hp/464.1tq.
All number are rear wheel STP correct (1.002 correction) done on a Super-Flow machine.
Based on what I have learned I should be in that 400/500 club if it was done on a Dyno-Jet.

Hey Thanks,
I'll get back to you guys...
I'll be installing the pieces in the next few days, I'll post the results in the next few weeks. Got a few extra goodies to install in this coming week also.
Silver-Bolt's was not cut;
hey FlashSVT, That's what he said on another post. He said his intake was cut in half, extrude honed, then welded back together.

This is the extude hone upper with a BABolt billet T/B. They are match ported.
RT,
The only way to clean up the intake is extrude it or cut it open and re-weld it. You can gain quite a bit of flow by matching your oval T/B to the intake. Overall you will remove about .040-.080 worth of material to get them to match. That is based on the BABolt T/B. I think the others should be very close.
I think with a set of long tubes to help this thing exhale will make a big difference. Probably work on long tubes next, then the blower and lower intake.

Hey,
I wasn't the only one that thought you had your upper plenum cut open and welded, the thread you started had a few other people thinking the same thing.
OK, no problem. It wasn't cut open and welded back together, Cool.
Relax, Life is one long weekend

DL -
Honest mistake; nobody gets a break around here. Could you drop me an e-mail with more info; I always subscribe to the philosphy that if you can't tune the stock parts you shouldn't be messing with the race stuff. Getting more HP out of stock components is really cool and what hot rodding is all about!

Thanks for the pics guys!
Hey, if some of you want to have yours ported and polished I know a really good guy in my area who is relativly cheap! I'm going to have mine done by him in a few days, so I'll get lots of pics and let you know how it is.
If you want more info, just e-mail me. Joemessana@jvi.net

Thanks Chuck,
They were trying to line me up against the wall.
I wish I could take credit for the nice work, but another fellow L owner from this board did the work. I'll give you a hint who it was, He owns a Orange L.
Whoever wants to know who it is, Shoot me an E-mail and I'll give you the details on how to get yours done.
