Soap,

Looking great! I've got one of those antennas too, not a bad mod for the bucks!

Are those chrome bases really chrome? Or just painted plastic?

Hear Ya Go....Also a tip on covering the black piece.
Tip for Billet Antenna users(pics)
I put my billet antenna on and did not like the black pieces underneath. So I went to ford and ordered the chrome piece. It is off the Lincoln Navigator Part # F85Z-18A927-AA . It only cost a couple dollars.Put it on and there was still a gap for the difuser that was black. So I went to pep boys.Went to the ricer aisle and picked up SPECTRE Chrome bolt caps(size 1/2 inch,12 mm .Part # 1408.Then I Drlled a 1/4 inch hole in it to fit over the adapter threads and it covered the defuser perfect.Give it a try.

Here is a Pic

billet antenna

what is the reason for a billet antenna? Is it just for looks or does it help reception? I know it doesn't add HP.

Unhappy As per Vinnie's part number...

...called local Merc dealer; informed part # is for a radiator cap. checking out correct item, they claimed only available with complete antenna assy: cost = $60.

I have come to defend Vinnies honor. The Merc dealer has his head up his a$$. I am holding the part in my hand and that is the correct part #. It cost less than $3 bucks.

F85Z-18A927-AA, one cap.
