SVT wants to know what you want next year and so on!!!!

I know for FACT that SVT reads this board EVERY day so lets give them a list of what we would like to see in the up coming years.

What I would like to see from this thread is for SVT to see what US the LIGHTNING BUYERS want!!

Lets keep this realistic..............

Wants:

Factory chrome wheels
Im sure wheels will change styles when body style does.

Lincolns 5.4 4 valve from Blackwood. S/C obviously

mainley rods

little different seats more like the 95 style with some more SVT or LIGHTING signatures inside truck

160MPH speeedo. We all know a stock truck can bury 140!

Better sound system

Firmer shifting tranny

In all reality,SVT has done a GREAT job every year with what they have changed!! Keep up the good work!

DO NOT WANT:

Ford to get scared of the dodge and stick a heavy v10 in. Our 5.4 is a great lightweight platform and I know an aluminum block v10 wont hold up and it would sound like crap!!!

Change the overall concept.

In general ,dont fix what aint broke!!

manual tranny,If we wanted a race truck ,we will buy a dodge.MOST of us like comfort AND handling. The dodge aint gonna handle with v-10 no matter what size wheels they have! Theyll see!

Not only chrome, but bigger wheel options would be nice. 20 inch, 22 inch.

A cool Lightning specific Hood, like they do with the cobra's.

4 valve heads

BIGGER blower

Stronger rods

bucket seats!!!!!!!

Much better tranny.

No clunks

Slow down production on the Lightning. Give it a few years before they come out with another model.

I'd like to see:

Chrome Wheels

Yellow Paint option (not that crappy Zinc Yellow either)

Black interior option

6 disc in dash changer (sure this is coming anyway)

More use of fiberglas and aluminum in the body and frame. It'd be nice if they could shave another 200 lbs or so off the weight.

Smile

I think that all would agree that the center console conversion craze that I created over a year and half now, should be a standard option.
Just think how many people were inspired by this....

...plenty. As far as I know, there are about 20 or so of these conversions going around, the more the better....IMO

All is well Don. Besides missing the L, all is well. The car is coming together nicely, and I am just waiting on the GEN III's
I still visit this board when I can, mainly to follow up on how everyone is doing. Good luck with your truck

Friday I got a letter in the mail from SVT. SVT contracted with MORPACE International, Inc. to run a survey of options and preferences you would like to see on your next Lightning. At first I thought this was a joke but I decided to check it out. I went to the website and took the survey. It was really great! The survey lets you pick options that I'm assuming SVT / Ford are considering for the next L's. Starting with engine options of 4.6 L Supercharged 425HP / 425TQ, 5.4 L Supercharged 450HP / 450TQ, 5.4 L Supercharged 500HP / 500TQ, 6.3 L Supercharged V10 500HP / 500TQ, and a naturally aspired 8 L V10 500HP / 500TQ. Choices of transmissions, a Brembo brake option, IRS, Wheel packages! If you get the letter, I would recommend you take advantage of this! (you need the letter as they give you a password and user id to take the survey). What a rush! Let the speculation begin!

Hey Spiro - is that a paper towel holder in between your seats? That's a pretty good idea!

Dude. That's almost a Kool-Aid plug.

-Being that the perf. truck market is getting more aggresive, eg. Chev SS, SRT-10,..........kick up the hp just a tad. Not much. Don't go crazy with a V10 or major fish-tailin' ponies. Around 420ishHP, 500lbTQ will do just peachy.

-Upgrade parts proned to breakage. eg. rods, tranny, etc.

-Definite stereo upgrade. That was the first mod I did. Rather pathetic stock system for a higher grade top of the line vehicle.

-And here's a GOOD one: CENTER HOLY ***** HANDLE mounted above where LED readout is for temp./direction is, for the middle passenger. This gets bloody annoying when there's 3 peoples in the truck!!! When it's a girl in the middle, that's all right when she ends up in the lap It's so NOT cool when it's a guy! Give 'them' some control so the driver can concentrate on the things at hand........................Like kicking ****!

-A functional hood would be schnazzy.

-Optional drag radials???

-Moon/Sunroof

-Louder/Bassier exhaust note. And maybe even putting the exhaust out both sides like so many people have thought aboot.

-Maybe lower the truck down a touch. Wheel well gap is a little much for a perf. truck.

Other than that, she's a beaut. Keep 'em coming. Let's keep showing them BowTie boys who's Daddy around Truck-Ville.

survey

I too tokk the survey, what can I saw WOW!! Mine priced out @ around $40,000!!! I went with the 6.8 s/c 500/500 engine, Brembos, larger rims & tires, 6sp "paddle shifter" (would be very cool) I noted that if they built this monster & kept it around 40k, then I would be down @ the dealer the next morning with my deposit in hand!!!
