Be a patriot, buy gas at CITCO? (long)

The following is something someone forwarded to me. I'd love to buy gas from a non middle eastern importer, but the only place on the list around here is CITCO. Isn't CITCO gas garbage?

************************************************** *
Major companies that import Middle Eastern oil (for the period 9/1/00 - 8/31/01):
>
> Shell 205,742,000 barrels
> Chevron/Texaco 144,332,000 barrels
> Exxon/Mobil 130,082,000 barrels
> Marathon 117,740,000 barrels
> Amoco 62,231,000 barrels
>

Here are some large companies that do NOT import Middle Eastern oil:
>
> Citgo 0 barrels
> Sunoco 0
> Conoco 0
> Sinclair 0
> BP/Phillips 0
>
All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and can be easily documented. Refineries located in the U.S. are required to state where they get their oil and how much they are importing. They report on a monthly basis. Keep this list in your car; share it with friends. Stop paying for terrorism!

I heard on the news last night that the United States is the largest buyer of oil from IRAQ.

Are we really that stupid?

From now on it's Sunoco for me. But how do folks find the 94 octane?

No, anyplace can produce terrorists. Still, if there's a place to start 'at home', it's buying oil from good ole north american sources.

no, but the OPEC cartel might as well be considered a terrorist organization and the US's continual cow towwing to them is asinine.

I use Sunoco 94 also, lucky for me, we have several stations in my city (now) before it was just one.

I only use gas from CITGO (sometimes Mobil), never had a problem for 24k miles on my 2000L or 8k on my 2001L.
Doesn't hurt that it's cheaper...like 10cents less for premium.

Then again if it's true that they get their oil from Venezuela, instead of supporting terrorists, I'm supporting communism, so I can't win either way!

I have a Sunoco 2 blocks from my house, but it does NOT have 94 Octane, it has crappy 93 Octane. I keep telling them to put 100 octane in one of their pumps and they will sell out every 2 days with all the rice burners we have down here and word of mouth.

It's fake.
Doesn't say it's fake, just is a statement saying that the figures don't directly translate to any terrorist prevention. However, the pure notion that citgo doesn't import gas from the middle east would make me go buy citgo.

With gas prices going up again, have you wondered why the companies that do not import from the middle east raise their prices as fast as those that do import?

All the companies are trying to make huge profits (can't say I would not do it myself).

Citgo

I own my own business and utilize a lot of pertoleum products. My local distributor (a station owner himself for may years in the area) told me that Citgo, at least here in S. Fla., is a high burn fuel that ranks as one of the best.

The only reason it is "perceived" to be a cheap fuel is that 7-11 sells it at their convenience stores.

It's pretty much all I use.
